Summer 2021 transfer window

I don't think Kilman is an odd footballer, just a bit limited by his lack of pace. For all the talk about his futsal background he's never stood out to me as being particularly good on the ball either, he's just a really solid defender. That's it. We need our centre backs to have a bit more about them than that though.

Now I like Kilman and said he'd be part of the main squad last season but watching him play, he's just a bit...er, bland.

He does the basics ok but he has no passing range at all. Gets the ball and just gives it to someone else even if there has been a run he'd have spotted. Perhaps he doesn't have the confidence in matches to be more adventurous

You couldn't get the Express & Star under his feet when he jumps.

I don't see there being a huge market for a centre half who can't run, head or turn.

Might be right about not expecting another defender to show up. We do need to upgrade, but we've also reduced the number in total we need if we do stick with only 2 rather than 3 CBs. They may want to shift some others first

This is it for me, he's just a decent defender. Nothing more, nothing less. Left sided Ryan Bennett without that bit of edge that allowed Bennett to perform above his skill level.

I doubt Kilman would have made that tackle on Willian!

Ah, Ryan Bennett, I really enjoyed his time at Wolves, and we haven't been as good since he left.

The definitive no nonsense CB still has a part to play in football. Maybe not Bennett, but someone like Tarkowski is highly rated for a reason. It's a lot easier to win if you have an absolute warrior keeping the ball out at the back

Mosquera has more pace that Tarkowski it appears from his brief showing. I would sooner invest in a proper DM and play Dendoncker or Otasowie alongside to preside the box to box element . Or you sign Palhinha and Ramsey 🤣🤣
Our problem is moutinho and Neves get overrun easily in a four and the CH does have the pace to cope with a head on onslaught. West Ham and Burnley capitalised last season.

Mosquera has done well in Colombia and a few friendlies. Huge step to the Premier League. We are desperate for a quality CB to come in. Especially with Bolys injury issues and both him and Saiss missing some games at African nations.

I agree entirely. It's the lack of pace in the presumed pressing style that worries me so.

Leeds have reportedly offered 30 mil for Traore, which the player turned down.

Reportedly being the key word

Adama playing for Bielsa will make him kick his bucket, defintely literally and maybe metaphorically

Said he didn't want a sideways move which has rattled Leeds fans, on twitter anyway

Everyone seems rattled in Twitter anyway

For that we would have had to have accepted the bid. At thirty million I doubt it. I smell a lot of internet bullshit.

Adama doesnt wanna go there and rightly so..he will be very important for us this season with Trincao, Silva, Pod and Neto a bit up in the air right now..wish he could sign a new contract though but dont think that will happen

Seems to be the new thing that clubs speak to players, via agents, before making a bid. A few years back you would be done for tapping up a player.
Xhaka for example already knows what Roma will offer him if they make a bid for him. Varane had agreed everything with Utd before then even officially bid for him. Probably happened before but nowadays it seems to be done openly.
