Summer 2021 transfer window

I feel sorry for me. I sucked up the significant price rise, the dismissal of the best manager we’ve had in a generation and rightly expected the club to back the new manager when he so publicly states what he needs. It’s me I feel sorry for.

I don’t give a flying fuck for the constant bickering and hand wringing from grown adults when I have my own shitty disappointment to deal with.

I feel sorry for me. Not you. Not Bruno. Not the poor guy who has been waiting patiently at the club to report breaking transfer news. Me. I feel sorry for me.

All your “oh woe is me” nonsense, you can stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I’m off to Bescot. See you muthas in League Two.

Let it out, brother, this is a safe space.

Do we even know the extent to which Shi is responsible for negotiating transfers? I find the singling out of him very uncomfortable to be honest.

The club's strategy for transfers this summer has certainly been difficult to discern (particularly in light of Bruno's comments about numbers required) and, assuming not much happens in the next three hours, it's clearly an abject failure. But the personal attacks on Shi every window feel really off to me. I'd really like the club to explain the delineation of roles and give us a little more insight as to what they're doing by way of a transfer policy. Some transparency would be welcome.

I've got a welcome song for Kiefer...

The Moore you ignore me the closer I net, Im wasting my time...

If we finish the day weaker rather than stronger then it's frankly laughable

I use the number of posts that DW criticised the club for recruiting Bruno Lage in pre-season (hint: it was far more than I’ve mentioned Shi) as the benchmark.

Don’t seem to recall you picking Dan up for his constant criticism at the time. Funny that.

Absolute joke of a window.
Yeah, but I justified that by explaining my concerns and delivering the quite obvious point that no other Premier League club would have gone anywhere near him.

You just seem to think Jeff Shi is shit, which is fine, but I don't think he has anything like the kind of role you think he has.

As things stand we look unbalanced as a squad.

GK Sa, Ruddy

RWB/RB Hoever, Semedo
LWB/LB Marcal, RAN, Johnny
CB Boly, Coady, Kilman, Saiss, Masquera
CM Neves, Moutihno, Dendoncker (Saiss)
AML/R Traore, Trincao, Podence, Neto
CF Jimenez, Silva

I quite liked him in Lost Boys and 24 so we know he can do it at the top level, but there is quite a lot of mediocrity in there too.

As I said in the thread earlier today (probably about 10 pages ago now), he’ll have a recruitment ‘team’ working below him, but they will all report in to Jeff and he will be the man doing the negotiating.

However, as you’ve pointed out, there’s been no transparency from the club on the specific roles, so until that happens, Shi will take the brunt of the criticism. Ultimately, he’s the one stood next to the new signings every time someone is unveiled.

Sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable mate! 😂

No doubt. Our recruitment is looking a complete shambles at the moment. If we got Kamara, maybe save a bit of face, but Keiffer Moore? If Stan Cullis was alive today he’d be turning over in his grave…
Stan Cullis and the board in the sixties had a dreadful recruitment stance hence the decline towards relegation in the mid sixties when the double league / fa cup winning team broke up. We wouldn’t sign Scots and we wouldn’t sign Irish while Liverpool Man U Leeds Spurs and others hoovered up the market of world class players.

Weird that we seem to be stumbling around from Botman to Caleda-Car to Sanches to Kamara to Moore in the dying hours of the window, with each deal inevitably dying a death.

To think we have full-time professionals working on this.

After all that talk of signings, all the rumours and we’re getting nothing and loaning out MGW who had actually started to look good. What an abysmal effort from the club, properly amateur.
We do have an amateur executive level of the club. And people thought it was hilarious to put laughing emojis under my posts when I said that at the time.

Laugh it up now, you cunts.

I know you've had it in for him for a very long time and I've never really managed to understand why. He's not the owner; we've no idea what his role is.

The fact we don't know that is a failure on the club's part, but I don't really understand the need to create a pariah out of someone who we know very little about when it's more than reasonable to just say "the club have fucked up".

Of course Shi is to blame, he's running the fucking club. So whatever combination of him, Sellars, scouting team, Mendes, fucking Vinny, whoever the fuck has fucked up the last 6 fucking windows it's Jeff fucking Shi's fucking fault. Fuckos.

This isn't like moaning about Shi because the hotdogs are shit. Player recruitment is the single most important factor to running a successful football club, and it's been fucking shit for three and a half years. Of course it's on Shi, he's the top dog. He's dismantled and recruited the entire leadership team for fucks sake
