Well whether it’s referred to as an “upgrade” or not, essentially we want the new keeper to be better than the one leaving!All this constant talk of 'upgrades' is a bit computer game-y for me. Again, like with Nuno, Rui is spoken about as an unchanging constant, and assessed at his best rather by than his recent performances.
I don't know much about Sa, but maybe if we were interested in him it could be because we think he'd be a good fit, and still has some development room, he might have characteristics Rui doesn't have that may suit the new manager and style, despite not being as much of a 'star'
I agree with your comments on Sa in principal. But from the information we have to hand, he’s not as good as Rui (and Rui hasn’t been great himself!).
I suppose this is where the trust in the scouting team comes in.
