Summer 2019 Transfer Thread

Rui will want the big games and Prem League and Euro would be them. Decade or not if the competition is there he will want them. Ruddy might play the early qualifiers (assuming we beat FC Mordor and another), Rui taking over from the Play Off game to get in the Group Stage.

Feels odd talking about potential European games for Wolves.

Doubt Rui will be too arsed about the Euro games, it will be Ruddy. An FA cup semi at Wembley is a bigger game than Slavia Prague etc. Won’t really play and “big” teams until the KO rounds (assuming we are in, qualify, get out the group). In a potential group stage we will be seeded 4th so would have one reasonable team in the group.

Patricio hasn't come here to NOT play in Europe.

Very much on this. Doesn't matter if he has played 1 or 1000 Euro games one of the selling points to attract him here would have been we want to be in Europe inside x amount of years...doubt they added and when we get there, you can watch from the stands

Certainly would be a statement signing.

Almost certain to end up at Utd or PSG though I'd imagine.

We’d gain a lot more attacking prowess but lose a lot going the other way. Which would be great for half the games but not so the others.

Not saying we are going to sign James, but if we signed a player in this mould (calibre/position/both) then you aren’t going to spend that much and only play him in half the games.

We need more of an #8 than #10 in the current system unless were going back to 3-4-3

James and United, damn, can see the ruins from here.

I feel like we have an odd mix in our middle 3. Amazing but odd.

Moutinho is good going forward yet he also runs his ass off and puts a foot in. Will we go for centre attack mid kind of players? We'll see

No way are we signing James. Firstly, the wages he's on have to be ridiculous. Second, as Punts has already mentioned, he doesn't do the defensive work. In the system Nuno has, it is about the team. Jota and Raul defend from the front. The way they tackle back, or cut off passes out for the opposition is immense.

James doesn't really do the defensive work which is why Bayern are letting him go.

Great player, but could do more harm than good (spirit, ethos, tactics etc)

I don't think we'll sign James but not because his wages would be too high or he wouldn't fit in our system. He'd be worth whatever he asked for and he'd improve our side massively. It just won't happen. He'll end up at one of the big 'brands' like United or PSG.

On PSG they might be getting to sell a few as their it is being reported their owners are frustrated they are shit in the Champions League and are trying to buy Roma and an English club and if they do that the funding for PSG will be hugely reduced

As if we wouldn't sign James because he doesn't defend enough :icon_lol:
If we even had half a chance we'd be all over it like a drunk virgin.

Exactly. And still we're not signing him.

James Rodriguez :icon_lol:

Some of what you lot are smoking, please.

1) no one said this
2) everyone has admitted we won’t be signing him

Next question?
