One of those where it’s ALL about the result. And WHAT a three points! Didn’t see it coming - referee must have been told at half time because barely noticed him in the second half.
To play an hour with 10 men, against a side fighting for their lives, and to somehow get the win and the three points - unbelievable. We were pretty shocking up to the sending off, but willing to forget that.
And Joao Gomes. That’s how you make yourself a fan favourite, young man. Well played!
What a win. Not a vintage performance but much improved 2nd half especially as we had to overcome that absolute fucking muppet in black. Gomes and Bueno were excellent when they came on. What a debut for Gomes. Looked emotional after the goal too. Mad.
Nice to see us pulling away in the table a bit now, too. Forest were several points ahead of us a few weeks ago and now we're right up behind them again. Only six points from Liverpool in 10th!
Obviously survival is paramount but we could have a real shot at a strong finish here.
Joao Gomes is 22 TOMORROW. BIG fucking cake for that boy. Going to be quite the few days for him!
With the way it played out, I would've taken 1-1. Absolutely fucking delighted with that.
Honestly aside from the goal they did not create very much, we were pretty solid. But, clearly, up against some absolute fucking bullshit. To overcome that (and manage to keep 10 men, given the way things were going) is a credit to them.
Absolutely buzzing after that, and so pleased for Gomes. That was a lovely finish when it would have been so easy to blast it. Tears in his eyes and mine . One word summary of that game: character.
Spent the afternoon flicking between channels on the firestick trying to get a stream that didn't keep buffering so saw very little of the game but felt awful losing to that village idiot so great when I refreshed this page to see we had equalised then another week, another debut goal to get the massive 3 points. 5 points clear of the drop zone now and feeling that anything is possible under the brilliant Senor Lop. Onto Bournemouth next saturday and hopefully we can do them too for a wonderful triple of victories. Lovely finish for Joao Gomes for the winner. Magnificent!
