Southampton 1-2 Wolves. Verdict Thread

Personally I don't think Moutinho is any where near done yet.

I think he's suffering from 18 months of pretty much continuous football without a proper break. Which at his age and in his midfield position, is asking for burn out. He's obviously very fit and can maintain a reasonable standard but it's not surprising its hurting his consistency and average performance level badly now.
I know fatigue can affect this, but his problem is that too often he's being cautious and negative when we need him to be getting us on the front foot more. That's what you have senior pros in the team for.

We may as well play a less talented midfielder in there with other positive characteristics if Joao's just going to try pedestrian things.

At his best he's industrious and battling and uses the ball beautifully but this season he's been part of the problem, for me

Time for Owen?

Time for Owen?

Don't think there are any other candidates banging down the door massively. Donk can maybe do a job in some games, Otasowie seems more a backup option on Nuno's mind.

For me I'd like to see Vitinha there tbh. Like Del said, we have to play these guys before we can really see if they're an option, especially the loanees.

Got away with one. In my world that's not a penalty, but neither is ours. In IFAB world they both should be

Exactly.

Which is why playing him for 90 minutes in the week, in a game Nuno clearly wanted to lose, was even more baffling.
this is just pure unadulterated bullshit. no professional athlete ever wants to lose.
I mean, what evidence do you have for questioning the character of the manager and team?

He posts shit like that quite often tbf

Lets be positive for once, great second half and liked how everybody seemed desperate to get something from this. Better pressing and attacking play, lets grow on this

we only seem to play like this once we score, so rather than being so passive in the first half, we really need to push forward and be positive, to make a concerted effort to kick the ball at the oppositions hands inside the box

We need to play like in the second half from the start..more proactive and less raective.it wont add up conceding a goal before you start to play..simple

Interesting that one fan thought JWP will be gone within a year. Is it just me that thinks he's like Barry Douglas but in midfield? Great set pieces but severely lacking in open play, apart from outpacing Silva of course.
To be fair that isn't hard currently. We are all hoping he turns into Usain Bolt when he's got some leg muscles...

Neto’s goal was brilliant. Reminiscent of SEB’s against Charlton.
