Season Ticket Discussion 2024/25

Will you renew?

If it is say 19k and they then only put 1k 'new' tickets up for sale then it'll be clear to see, they think they can make more money off match by match sales and not lose thousands off the gate in doing so.

Of course I think they're wrong for a number of reasons.

If in that scenario they put all 3k up for sale with the waiting list having first dibs then I don't think they'll all go.

I must admit I have such a range of emotions about it - I want them to be hit financially by lower sales, to teach them a lesson - but at same time only want Wolves to do well.

They do usually announce it very quickly if sales are good.

The money they could raise was minimal anyway, so the pain will be embarrassing rather than bringing any real operational difficulty.

I ended up renewing in the end.

Pretty much everything I wrote still stands but I always said I was desperate to renew and I was tipped over the edge by a family friend who I just wouldn't see anymore if I stopped going to games. We talked about sharing his ticket or me using his supporter # to go to away games (which are still reasonably priced at £30 although I think that deal runs out at the end of the season) but in the end I just couldn't give it up. All I was really achieving was making myself miserable.

That and out of the main group of friends who meet up before games 3/4 who weren't going to renew ended up renewing as well. We sort of all talked ourselves into it.

TL;DR Basically I'm a little bitch and Jeff Shi is my Daddy.

Reading about all these renewals many from people who had initial outrage, looks like Shi got it absolutely right.
I disagree, he's thrown away a lot of goodwill for no reason, for all the climbdowns there are still plenty who held out and said no (often fans who've been going for literally decades) and the additional money is equivalent to me finding 50p on the floor.

Agreed

I don't think he cares or it's relevant. If you renewed this year only changes to personal circumstances or relegation will stop you from ever doing so. For all the noise he's got what he wanted. Tbh I'm beginning to regret not doing it myself as the only person I've hurt is me and my son and it's clear my actions aren't part of some bigger message given all the climbdowns

Is there though? How many ST holders on here didn't renew? 2 was it in the end? 3? And this is a very negative (realistic) forum compared to others and not representative. Likewise on AT all but 1 or 2 renewed.

Also, many said they weren't renewing anyway as they were sick of VAR etc.

What is goodwill actually worth if people are going to renew anyway?

He raised the prices by 17% and the absolutely vast majority paid it. He will look totally vindicated by his bosses.

I think that's the crucial point, he doesn't give a fuck else he wouldn't have done it in the first place.

He SHOULD and it should matter, but people will always do what they feel is best for them in the end.

(It's why we have such a Selfish bunch of cunts governing us too, but that's a broader point)

He’s pulled off an absolute blinder. He will be pissed off he agreed to the freeze as he will think he hasn’t gone high enough.

Everyone I spoke to out of here was gobsmacked I wasn’t renewing and were saying “you’ve got haven’t you” when I asked if they were.

Better get myself on the waiting list!

Me, Deutsch, Booz, Punts definitely. Johnny I think. I assume those like North Shropshire and Aiki who were on the fence did, given those that definitely weren't ending up doing so. People have now moved to I won't buy any merchandise or anything from the kiosks, except they will.

Most of my non-Wolves mates assumed I'd cave. You'd think they'd know what a stubborn bugger I can be :D

For what it's worth, as it stands I don't regret it.

I don’t regret it yet. We will see in 2 months time. Can’t remember a time not going so might be a bit of a shock. Although probs end up going plenty on other peoples tickets.

You caved previous years when you said you wouldn't though?

Different circumstances I know

I never outright said no before, I said they were testing my patience and I'd have to seriously think about it.

Came very close to saying no in 2022 mainly because the thought of watching Lage's football again was just depressing me. I think that's the only genuinely tight call. Never really thought about it in 2023 thinking we would build something under Lopetegui (the whole "no money" stuff didn't appear until after the deadline), 2021 was a no brainer as we'd all spent 18 months not going to games, 2019 we were heading into Europe so of course I was doing it.

I criticised them for raising prices for no real reason, for lying about other clubs' prices (they've done it again this year) and for being a wild outlier in terms of having annual increases when no-one else was doing that, all valid criticisms but this year was different.

No he won't as he said "freeze or small increase" so that'll be over 5% to the adult ST prices again and he implement the massive increases to the over 65, disabled and kids prices and we will start again.

The 5% comment was in an email to a fan just after it kicked off, pretty sure in his slight backing down he said no increase next season.
