SACKED!!!

Be intriguing to see how back on the Mendes train we are in January.
I dont care who gets the players, this shit people moan about Mendes, is fucking bollocks, we need a favour or 2, similar to Neves, Jota etc

I'd have him below Lambert, Solbakken, Hoddle, and even [spits] Lage, tbh. (McGee was before my time.) In spite of all of them having very, very obvious flaws as coaches, and as people, none of them ever struck as quite so clueless and useless relative to the circumstances when they were at the club.

Purely in terms of Win%, Saunders is the only one to manage to be objectively worse within the last 40 years, which realy is some going. What a hire by Morgan.

Lage is a big reason why this mess is happening now, No Lage means no Lop debacle and means no GON.
Sucked vasts amount of energy out the club and treated good servants like crap.
Was definitely carried by experienced players in season one and his deficiencies were glaringly obvious at the end off of his first season.

I reckon there'll be some pieces in the media from the usual suspects about how poor things were under GON and how none of it is Shi's fault

Given our self imposed parameters and self inflicted current situation as a 6 month shock tactic it's probably worth the gamble. I hope they aren't stupid enough to give him a long contract though.
Issue is I doubt he, or any manager would accept a short term contract. Gone are the days of your allardyce fire fighters.

Give them a standard length contract but have achievable metrics in there. Even if it’s auto extend if for example avoid relegation this year, finish 14th or above next year etc.

Merry Christmas Gaz ya prick!
Pack ya Leapfrog novelty I-Pad and ya tooth brush, trains leave wolverhampton main every 20 mins or so!

Go all out for Marinhio, at least he'll attract the standard of players we need, instead of another bunch of kids.

Saunders took over a midtable team with the goal of making us challenge for the playoffs and got us relegated! I can't stand O'Neil but that idiot is leagues beyond anyone when it comes to the worst manager at Wolves.
That's something of a distorted take. 3 wins in 17, 6 points off relegation and a couple of gutless home performances over Xmas. Solbakken would have taken us down, Saunders completed the job.

Normally tales of being aloof, moody and unapproachable. Rude to Doris the tea lady. Can't see this with O'Neil tbf though will be interesting to see any leaks, the 'group' don't come across as united and happy as they try to portray

Every decision in regards to management from September 2011- January 2013 were a disaster. Allowing Mick to stay as long as he did was one, then the car crash after he left under Connor, trying a very left of field appointment of Stale and then just plucking the bloke out that was top of League 1.
Stale was clueless and that xmas of 2012 was some of the worst performances I’ve seen by Wolves ever.

We did half a job with Stale. If we were going all in on a change of approach from 2006 onwards then he had to have a total clean sweep, goodbye to the old guard. The existing players didn't want to know.

Doesn't give him a free pass of course.

Saunders had at least five games that were worse btw.

No we need some pragmatism and ugly 1-0 wins.
Do we have the personnel currently? No not at all but we can be a lot harder to beat at least.
No one likes pragmatism but it’s far better than chaotic 5-3 defeats or conceding 3 penalties in a game.

Agree with all of that, but I'd still have O'Neil as worse overall at the job. In most areas of the job he's been measurably worse than Lage for me, and it's not like that was a high bar to clear either.

They are similar in one season ending appallingly and that being carried in to the next. If it ever happens again hopefully those in and outside the club will learn the lesson.

Well apart from the 20 odd years experience, actually winning stuff and I read somewhere a 53% win ratio. It's not sexy but as others have said it might be what we need atm.
From that Fenerbace fan, he really doesn't sound much better.

Wrong starting XIs, waits too long to make subs, his teams don't score many, falls out with every man and his dog, constantly writing in his notepad instead of the game, hates criticism and sulks at the media.

It's a huge gamble, but I guess that's where we are right now. He might be alright, he might be a disaster.

Lage turned us into a boring mess that lost a lot GON turned us into a soap opera club that lost a lot. Both have left long lasting damage behind them. The billy bonus in 2022 was the World Cup reset and Lop being very much good enough to keep us up. At least one of those scenarios doesn’t apply here.

Management of Fenerbache who expect to win every game and the league and also probably some of the most impatient fans in Europe.
Completely different to a side that’s only aim is survival, not saying it’ll work but both scenarios are very different
