Ruben Neves

Tbh I think he'd play 30+ games for any PL club barring City, and there will be a lot of interest this summer. There's every chance of him leaving imo, and it may not be for market rate, depending on what informal agreements were made to get him to join us in the first place. If we lost him for £25m, he's a bargain for whoever buys him and still the best value, most profitable and most successful signing we've made since bully.

At the end of the day we've had Ruben fucking Neves for a season in the championship, and that may well come with a favour owed back to him/Jorge when it comes to moving him on again. And I don't think any of us could be too unhappy with the 'other' side of the relationship tbf

People need to remember we are absolutely fucking minted. Unless he wants to go we don't have to sell him. We could ask the absolute fucking earth.

So how do you prevent the players head getting turned, does Neves become Wolves first 100k a week footballer?

Absolutely this. Was just going to say the same. Fosun won't ever get their "heads turned" by an offer.

We have huge space in the Premier League wage structure. Our current squad wage bill, even allowing for promotion increases is probably around £40m. We can go straight to £67m. That is 5 new players on £100k p/w. I am sure we can afford it easily.

I really want him to stay but if he goes I trust Fosun/Nuno/Mendes to bring in some exceptional talent to replace him.

I know that money isn’t an issue, but making £35m profit allows you to sign nearly £200m of players without making a loss on player trading.

neves is so critical to the way we play - his vision, picking the right pass, stretching teams, hugely accurate and all of that means our game management, particularly when ahead, is as good as its ever been. the goals have been fantastic and the icing on the cake but will inevitably draw more attention from other clubs and their fans. I'd hope we're looking at similar type players simply because it would be great to have a replacement if he's injured, suspended, needs a rest. but we'd be lucky to find and get anyone half as good, and we'd probably have to pay a big premium for that sort of player on top. so my head wouldn't be turned at any price and I'd expect fosun the same - it's only ever gonna be an issue if the player wants a move. hopefully the new players we bring in and prospects for the club will make that a non issue.

I think he is more than happy playing rather than sitting on the bench, and I think with any of the top 6 teams he would spend time on the bench next season, and he will not move anywhere that is not a top 6 club.
this time next season after a season in the prem and at the age 22, Man City, Man U will come with big bids it will be time to say good bye.

remember this is not Willy Mckay we are dealing with this is an agent who is close to our owners so he will not be pushing ofr a move, and getting Arsey, and TBH I do not see that in Neves's make up.

He would be a first choice midfielder at everybody barring City, if he moves he's not going to be a bench warmer.

I think we're kidding ourselves if we think normal rules apply with some of these players, and there aren't agreements or favours owed that could make contracts or market rate irrelevant. We've had all the benefits so far but it's not going to be always our way

We had to give Ola John a home for 4 months so we are owed an extra season of Neves just for that.

He came here because Nuno asked him, so IMO if Nuno stays then Neves stays.

Not to put anything other than a guess and using Kante as a comparison I would say Kante was instrumental in getting Leciester 20 points more at least than they would have got. Neves in the team gives us an even better record than Neves out of the team this season. So he is probably worth a similar number. So ask yourselves the question. Do we want to start the next season on 20 points by keeping Neves or sell him for 50 million? For me its a resounding yes please to keeping him and I hope he feels the same.

Both Man United and Liverpool fans on Twitter this morning saying they want him next year. Pogba - Neves - Matic seems a reasonable midfield, I suppose. I'm desperately hoping he stays another year but a good World Cup and an offer around £60m and he could be off

From the perspective of those fans they will see it as the usual case of promoted Championship club with talented player so we'll be able to poach him off them. What most fans of these teams won't realise is that we are not the usual promoted Championship club. The aim of our owners is to compete with teams like Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal etc and break the stranglehold that those clubs have on success. We won't HAVE to sell Neves to any of them. We want him to help us challenge them. That said, he will go if we get an offer too good to resist, if his head gets turned or Uncle Jorge decides he has to. All are possible but selling him to one of the big clubs because they are big clubs and we are not is not going to happen.

Fosun bought us as an investment after a lot of careful research.
That is a stated fact.
As far as I see it there is potential here to turn Wolves into a worldwide brand, you don't do that by selling off your best assests.
Now that the first step of achieving Premier League status has been achieved (probably ahead of schedule) I'm expecting quality players to come in and be paid the 'going rate'.
We will be adding to Neves I would have thought.
Obviously any player has a price though, difficult to evaluate the potential value of a 21 year old with Ruben's ability.

I think if he goes,it'll be to arsenal, maybe a new manager there in the summer, clear out of the underachievers build a new young squad

Man City - they won't feel he's good enough yet to get in their side (he is, clearly) so I don't think they'll take a punt.
Man Utd - the big worry for me. Desperate for some new midfield blood but Jose clearly likes McTominay and won't have two youngsters in his midfield.
Liverpool - Keita arriving this summer so they won't spend big on another CM.
Chelsea - tightened the purse strings somewhat but could easily afford him if they wanted to. Fabregas needs upgrading...
Arsenal - he'd walk into their side but I don't see them being after him.
Spurs - they won't pay the money we'd want for him but again, he walks into their side too.

He certainly won't be going to any others Premier League sides so you then start looking abroad. He isn't ready for Madrid, Barca, PSG, Juve or Bayern just yet. Does he go to a 'second tier' European side like Monaco, Atletico Madrid, Napoli or Dortmund?

With Danilo out injured and W Carvalho having issues at Sporting, Neves could well be starting at the World Cup. Hells teeth, he's getting better by the week so may do it on form alone. If he has a good time in Russia it becomes a 50/50 shout if we keep him.

Who won't be in the Champions League. Why would he go anywhere unless they could offer Champions League football?

He won't go anywhere this summer. And I think next summer we will be a lot closer to Arsenal than they expect. As has been said, we are not a normal newly promoted club. We have enormous money and we want to be at the top of the table rather than losing assets.

Money isn’t really an issue as Fosun aren’t going to have their heads turned unless we’re talking billions so the issue will be getting as much as we can if it becomes clear he wants to move on. How much would it cost to replace him? Certainly a bit more than we paid.

I would be more concerned if Nuno moved on because that would likely present the biggest risk to keeping Neves (and others)

Nuno isn't going anywhere. Not for a good few years anyway.

If you could guarantee one of Nuno or Neves stayed at the club for five years, who would you choose?
