Funny to see some Southampton and Leicester fans welcoming a season or more in the Championship, not sure if they're just trying to convince themselves but it really has been a shit league this year. Sheffield United fans are openly saying they've not been that good this season and most of the play off teams saying they've been no better than other sides they've had that have finished mid table in seasons gone by. It's always the case that newly promoted teams are up against it a bit but I think Sheffield United and whoever wins the play offs are really going to struggle from the off next season unless one of them does something mad in the window.

The atmosphere at Bramall Lane is worth a good number of points a season, their pre and post Covid form demonstrates that. Boro would be the one who'd have the best chance of the play off teams as I'd have thought Gibson is likely to splash the cash.

I'd like Sunderland to come up, proper club and Lee Howey aside never had an issue with them. Cov can stay down, it'll just bring another fabricated 1 sided rivalry we don't need.

We should be pushing for Europe again in the top 10 all being well next season. GOT to sign a decent forward though!!

The problem Boro have got is at least 3 of their best players are there on loan. They'd have to either pay a good chunk to make those permanent or to replace them before they even start on other areas.

Think we’re now back in the could go down but should be fine category ie the 14th-8th placed teams along with Palace, Fulham, Brentford, Villa and West Ham.

To be fair I think Coventry would aim that at Villa not us, if Leicester stayed up that would be their genuine rivalry.
I think Sunderland gate crashing on 69 points tells you that they’d need some huge surgery to even have a chance next season.
Whoever goes up from the play offs is very much up against it.

Fulham's metrics are a bit weird this season, they're a hell of a lot easier on the eye than we were under Lage (and Silva isn't a babbling cone gimp) but there's a similar discrepancy in terms of xG etc and what's actually happened. Might be worth watching.

My money is on a big regression next season. Silva’s done very well this season, but:
1) He’s caught a bit of lightning in a bottle with Willian, who is only getting older.
2) No way do I trust Ream to carry on this kind of form long-term.
3) I can’t unsee the way his Hull side folded in a 4-1 loss to confirm relegation some seasons ago (N’Diaye was in that team).
4) As you pointed out, the underlying numbers say their results just aren’t sustainable.

We’ll see what they do in the window, I s’pose.

Fulham have massively over performed against xG (7) and xGA (17) this season.

Insane that we got 9 points more than Sunderland in 14/15 and missed out on the playoffs altogether!

Time to vomit Everton fans this morning

Rather than having him here to be dishonest or insincere...
Can't believe I'm having to explain a shit joke here...

Wolvensam "I'd have him here to be honest"

Bear "I'd rather we had him here to be a good footballer"...

Tredman "Eh?"

Moving on

That's quite good from the ol' Cocaine Bear tbf

(If that movie didn't come out over there, these references must seem supremely stupid)

That film looks even worse than my awful joke.
