It's more tedious than Lost. And that took years to end.

Get strapped in for years of the same shit, I can't see things ever improving at the minute.

What if things don't improve after we leave? Hopefully they do so that people can move on but there are going to be people with massive chips on their shoulders after the way the referendum was handled.

Congratulations chaos has been created. If we do not leave the EU now because of some technicalities or other contrived shenanigans then watch the extremists many of you hate and fear rise up and get heard as they will say I told you so. Then watch the EU treat the UK like a chastened child. It may be what many ,the majority of the MPs want. However the inept referendum delivered a result. Now those charged with power must execute it. If not we will head down the fascist or communist route very very quickly and neither will be good

To be fair, I think if a lot of people who voted out knew then what they know now they'd have voted remain, so I think the majority of the Country would be happy if it was vetoed due to a technicality.
 
It's far more fascist for the PM to be creating policy without consulting Parliament, which is all that has been blocked.

That is a massive over reaction.

We live in a parliamentary democracy, they need to approve article 50 as they did the referendum, which they will do as all tory MPs will be whipped.

Interesting a tory brexit MP has resigned today in annoyance at his leader trying to bypass parliament. Quickest route to your fascist envisaged future is putting all power in the hands of a PM / Fuhrer.

Nobody is suggesting that Brexit will be blocked though are they (apart from the Brexiters who have worked themselves up into a right pant wetting state over this)? It just means that it will done as per our country's own laws. The laws and processes that leave voters were so eager to want to protect a few months ago.

The UK's independent judiciary interpreted the UK law and came to a decision about how to proceed. Isn't this how things are supposed to work? I'm struggling to see why you would object.
 
I listened to the 5live phone in this morning. The paranoia of many of the pro Brexit callers was something to behold. It's a box ticking exercise, no MP of a constituency such as Barnsley for example will vote against leaving when 70% plus of their electorate were in favour.

The SNP will vote against, maybe the Liberals and a couple of Labour and Tory rebels, it'll comfortably pass. If May is clever she'll use it as reason for calling a GE and increase her majority to 130+
 
You would have to repeal the Act. Not a difficult problem, but of course if Labour were less than convinced of a decent electoral result then they could block the repeal.
 
You only need a simple majority to repeal, she'd get that. As Labour are officially on an 'election footing' as per Jezza it's unlikely they'd block it anyway. As the main opposition, putting out the message you don't want a GE would be a really weak one
 
Some Tory MPs won't want an election as her small majority gives them power, and Labour definitely don't want one. The snp want to save their money for Indy ref 2.

So I can't see it happening.
