REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

The referendum was known to not be legally binding; why is Parliament having a binding vote a surprise to anyone?

Because the Government doesn't want Parliament to have a vote.

Those who favoured Leave and those in charge of Brexit itself want minimum exposure to their plans and actions, almost as if I don't know, it all gets exposed as a huge con trick which leaves everyone worse off in every sense.

Nail. On. Head.

Jeremy Corbyn,
Leader of the Labour Party commenting on the High Court ruling on triggering Article 50 said:
“This ruling underlines the need for the Government to bring its negotiating terms to parliament without delay. Labour respects the decision of the British people to leave the European Union. But there must be transparency and accountability to parliament on the terms of Brexit.
“Labour will be pressing the case for a Brexit that works for Britain, putting jobs, living standards and the economy first.”

Great, Christmas GE and at least five more years of May's government incoming...

Still, at least the Mail are taking it well and not randomly lashing out.

Fuck me an openly gay ex-Olympic Fencer - how fucking dare he. Cunt.

FFS!! HM, give it a bloody rest, or hopefully the mods will give you one.

This gutter commentary is just not needed or wanted on TWF.

I'd say "what are you guys doing over there" but we've got this whole Trump thing going, so glass houses and all...

FFS, grow up.

You are one of the most decent posters on here, Penk. I get called many things and openly insulted. I dare say something back and a big thing is made of it. The same people on here throw insult after insult and that's fine.
Be balanced please.

I really can't believe that you'll actually vote trump in over there, whereas we actually have gone and done it here.

well thanks to the high courts, not yet you haven't apparently

It doesn't really give any real exposure though does it? There's not a lot to debate at this point as there's been nothing put forward and no pre treaty conversations have been allowed to happen. It will just be a vote on whether parliament allows section 50 to happen or not. No real exposure to plans or actions at all, any questions will be met with 'we want loads of stuff but it depends on the negotiation of the eu'
