REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Off again about where people live. Why would they move to Heath Town in protest? Protest at what?

I've been asked a few times why I am concerned about Immigration, so here goes.

There was nothing wrong with the way Immigration in the UK was working prior to Tony Blair opening the floodgates in 2004.

I am sick to death of Middle Class White People, living in middle class white leafy suburbia, telling me that because I live on a council estate, that I have to accept excessive immigration in my town and in the area where I live, whether I wanted it or not. That I have to embrace multiculturalism whether I like it or not and that if I don't like it then I am clearly a racist.

I bought my council house and have no chance of moving to a 'better' area. Whereas the white middle class luvvies who profess to love immigration and spout all their crap about the wonders of diversity and the enrichment of our society, why is it they never seem to live in an area that represents our so-called multicultural society ? I want people like Tim Faron to say "I love multiculturalism sooooo much, I'm moving to Sparkbrook in Birmingham"

But where Tim lives in the ultra white Lake District, he doesn't have the same concerns as working class people on Estates, and the impact that unlimited immigration is having on their lives and the infrastructure of their towns. My black and asian friends are affected by these issues and they don't like it either. My asian friend who I have known for years, didn't like the fact that there are restrictions on which of his Indian relatives could come and live here, yet no matter how big your family was in Eastern Europe, there are no limits or restrictions. For my family friends and I, of different colours and religions that we had grown up with for years and years, we had a 'way of life' that we were all happy with. We did not vote for unlimited immigration. We never used to talk about desperation for child places at the school of your choice or waiting weeks to see a doctor, or Hospital waiting lists. But make no mistake, this is not the fault of East Europeans. This lies with people like Blair and Mandelson.

Perhaps someone can tell me why not many white people live in Sparkbrook, or why so many white people have left London over the last 15 years. Are they Racists or am I a Racist for asking the question. To many on here, probably both, but so what ? It's an uncomfortable truth for many. We were ok with the way things were. We just don't like being 'swamped'.

So there you go, that's just for starters. Don't bother picking the bones out of that little lot, just dismiss the whole piece and call me a racist bastard. Just like the 70% in Lincoln and the 63% in Wolverhampton. Let the tit for tat insults begin.

So many things to take issue with in this post, but I'll just ask what the lack of white people living in Sparkbrook has to do with immigration from the EU? Aren't most of the immigrants from Eastern Europe "white"? All the Poles, Bulgarians, and Romanians that live round here certainly are.

Well, judging by that post I am afraid you clearly are a racist bastard.

I am middle class by upbringing and live in the not necessarily leafy suburb of Pendeford. It is inclusive and I am proud to live where I do.

I get your point Prog until you start going on about non-white areas which has SFA to do with EU immigration. Sad that.

Don't forget to get down to the Western pre-match Cardiff to tell him to his face.

If you don't like brown people then why vote for something that will increase non white immigration?

I was so pleased to hear that the unelected money grabbing parasites in The House Of Privilege and Irrelevance, we're finally forced to back down. I've been asked to come up with a Brexit Plan. I haven't got one. Why would I have one ? I did what many people did. I listened to all the arguments on both sides. Watched all the TV debates. Delved into various online articles and then made a choice. Like most Elections, I voted for what I considered to be the lesser of two evils.

At least May can now invoke Article 50 before the end of March like she said she would.

Tend to agree - the detailed planning begins as soon as article 50 is invoked. It would have been foolhardy to have done so without knowing which way the vote would go. The outline plan was the vote itself. Anybody would think we are about to see mass deportations but scaremongering has been a feature of Brexit from its early conception. I bet the Germans aren't too keen on subsidising bonny Scotland after losing one of the big net contributors.

What a load of shit! More shit about Middle Class Leafy Suburbia, and people should move to different towns if they love immigration. Rambling, prejudiced nonsense

I think someone is jealous of the middle class who or regrets the house they bought on their council estate or both.

I'm not sure there is an identity to defend against multiculturalism and I'm not sure the class system actually exists any more. .I do think some of these people are detached, but more so by wealth rather than cultural differences. Lets face it if Farron announced that twenty thousand migrants were to settle in his constituency he'd get his ass kicked out of Parliament. The reality is that the migrants settle in the poorer areas because they encouraged here to do the low paid, low skilled work that the Brits cannot be forced to do - a concept alien to people like Farron.

Good point that, at lot of the hatred is whipped up by the rich ruling class to detract from the fact its them milking the system

We never used to talk about desperation for child places at the school of your choice (You can't pin that on Tony - The 1988 Education Reform Act introduced the rule whereby parents could specify which school was their preferred choice). or waiting weeks to see a doctor (is this true?), or Hospital waiting lists.(Blair's first health pledge was to reduce the hospital waiting lists in England by 100,000.It was duly achieved, but the government was soon accused of ignoring the most urgent patients just to drive down numbers.Labour attempted to answer the critics with the 2000 NHS Plan which introduced waiting times for England - Scotland and Wales have both followed their own paths after devolution. In 2007, no one is waiting longer than six months for non-emergency treatment - down from between 18 months and two years for some surgery in the early days. By next year no one should wait longer than 18 weeks). But make no mistake, this is not the fault of East Europeans. This lies with people like Blair and Mandelson.

I'd look back at how things really were when you had a way of life that you were happy with.

I like the 'my black friends' bit.

I grew up on a council estate, I still live there when I am not at uni yet funnily enough The levels of immigration (in London) do not cause me the pain and anguish you despair about...

I went on a trip with my uni to London and a lot of my friend (not from London) spent most of the time going on about how white people are a minority in the area, like it was a really terrible thing. Ironic because I think people with these views are probably proud of our imperialist past.

Fed up of such a large sectio of our society that have been legitimised by the referendum result.

I live and work in the most multicultural city in the country. Am I allowed an opinion?

More abuse directed against those of us happen to live near trees. Look what Brexit is doing to this country.

Am I allowed to express a view in winter when the leaves have fallen?
