REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

As pointed out by the lovely Professor "Derek" Dougan in his last video, under UK legislation, any joining of the UK armed forces to the EU's (if it ever existed) would require another referendum. Does anyone really think the UK would vote yes?

The creation of an EU army would also require the individual assent of all 27 countries (or whatever the number is now), probably also by national referendum. How likely is it that the populations of all other 27 nations would agree to such a proposal?

This is not a sensible line of enquiry.

Nah. It's being ruined by self congratulating, crowing self important type(s).

Its like you were given a tick box and told 'Put a cross here and tomorrow you can have a threesome with Scarlett Johanssen and Kelly Brook'.

You duly do so, get told it was a mirage and yet you crow about how you 'won'. You miss the fact that everyone else is looking at you thinking 'That guy's a fucking gullible cunt'.

Everything that Leave voters voted for is a mirage.

What are you on about? If people can't accept a democratic result and are still moaning and STILL INSULTING the people who voted leave, surely we can point that out.

I would have thought that the thread is being ruined by bad losers and keyboard warriors, who sit behind a computer and insult people.

People aren't having a pop at you because you voted leave, it's because you continue to post complete and utter nonsense. Most of which has no relevance to anything being discussed by anyone.

Whatever. We have had interesting debate on here. Cyber has been fucking excellent on the leave side to discuss this with in a sensible fashion. We may not agree but we can talk about it.

You just make it absolutely bloody impossible.

All I've tried to point out is that this is not something that was created by the Express.

To dismiss the creation of an EU army out of hand is wrong esp. as it ensconced in the Lisbon Treaty.

A German defence white paper, leaked in May but supposed to be kept under wraps until after the referendum, leaves no doubt of Germany’s intention to drive through the merger of Europe’s armed forces “and embark on permanent cooperation under common structures”. Germany has begun to combine substantial elements of the Dutch forces with their own.

Do you understand that it would take a referendum that absolutely could not be won to happen though?

It is like trying to base propaganda on the likelihood of dinosaur attack if we stay in the EU. That likely.

They have a combined force at Munster. Which is under the NATO banner. Not the EU. And the individual elements of that force are still, as appropriate, in the separate German and Dutch Armies. Among the same force in Munster are elements from Norway, Spain, Italy, UK and THE UNITED STATES.

So clearly a precursor to the EU army.

No, the people who make debate impossible, are those that insult people.

That was a very good video and sums up very well the crisis ahead, and it is really a crisis. He also highlights something I mentioned a few days ago, the leaves campaign deliberate deception of the British people and the harm that will do to democracy itself.

I wasn't deceived (least of all by the bullshit spouted by both campaigns)

That is your opinion and it's one best left away from this thread. It suggests you know how I should think ...

However I am telling you that any party that in any way agreed to surrender of our armed forces would be out in the next election. It is just not a possible policy. Now somebody could suggest the idea from the EU, and we would tell them to do one. Simple as.

Only the Queen could do that. Nobody will ever command her forces. She's the big cheese.

Again, it doesn't matter if we leave the EU. I'll wait and see what happens to the EU in the future.

Are you ready to give us your specific reasons on why you feel leaving the EU has produced a better future for your children and grandchildren yet? You stalled when asked last week as people "weren't really interested". Well I'm interested.

We've had seventy pages of this Deutschy.

I'm confused now. So there was propaganda about an EU army. I have (along with others) explained why I don't think it is anything to worry about. And then this post. Do you mean that the EU will integrate an army with or without the UK, whether we were still in the union or not? Just trying to understand your exact point.
