REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

I saw it on Farron's twitter feed this morning (my wife follows him). I was surprised but from what I can make out it was yesterday. A very small sample indeed so I wouldn't read too much into the level of swing. I just thought it was interesting.

Ah, yes, found it. Leatherhead rather than Guildford but just down the road. The LDs are the natural alternative to the Cons down here. They used to win quite a lot of council seats and even won Guildford in the GE in 2001.

It was also fairly solid Remain territory in this part of the world so that might have had an impact. I doubt it will mean much come 2020 though.

Small acorns though. I thought Clegg had killed them stone dead so any small improvement is a start for them.

What are you wittering about? I pointed out an (admittedly) small by election. The first since Brexit. There was a swing to Liberal.

As Kenny says, they have indicated they want back in.

The two may be related. They may not.

Nothing of the above is asking for another referendum at all. I am just interested in how the landscape may be over the next few months and years.

Depends on how quickly you come to terms with that you lost. The EU has even said the people of the UK have made their choice.
Trying to work out, who will come to terms with losing first, The BBC and the Guardian, or a few people on the The Wolves Forum.

The Express also ran the story. As we have absolute veto over our defence affairs it just isn't a story even had we voted remain.

The EU bureaucracy knows better than to take this project forward under a mechanism that could be derailed. No matter what politicians say, it is certain that British Armed Forces would have become part of an EU army. Mr Cameron’s dire warnings of war if we leave reinforce that.

Not a chance in hell. Not a chance. We would never ever surrender our control over our armed forces. It would be politically impossible.

Ed Davey had Kingston until last year too.

No-one disputes the result, you fucking moron.

Well it won't happen if we leave the EU, that's for sure.

Why do you think Field Marshall Lord Guthrie changed his mind to Leave, and Veterans for Britain, a campaign group set up by serving and former military personnel including General Sir Michael Rose, a former director of special forces and a commander in Bosnia, has argued that the UK's national interest would be best served outside the EU.

Never say behind a computer, what you wouldn't say to a persons face!
It is quite obvious, that people can't accept the result!

Acceptance and comprehension are quite different things.

Are you going to keep crowing all month or is graceful victory going to kick in eventually?

I have no bloody idea. Can you in any way prove that had anything to do with armed forces? Hell I used to be Company Secretary at B&Q and I voted remain. Does that suddenly mean DIY is a better affair within Europe? No of course not. It is a complete non sequitur.

However I am telling you that any party that in any way agreed to surrender of our armed forces would be out in the next election. It is just not a possible policy. Now somebody could suggest the idea from the EU, and we would tell them to do one. Simple as.

There is no crowing on my part. It's now gone from boring to pathetic, listening to how clever the losers are and how stupid the winners are.

Oh goody another spell of threads being sent to the arse end of the internet by THM. everything seems to tick along lovely until you log on from Sunny Spain. Why is that?

Because he is as described by Vis. I won't hide behind a computer.

He puts himself across very well, but it is still biased opinion.

He says that everything that the Leave campaign said was deception or lies, and that everything the Remain campaign said was reasonable and true. He says EU law was decided in a democratic European Council and needn't be accepted by British Parliament as that was sovereign, he says that there are no plans or talks about an EU army, and he says that Turkey will not be part of the EU for many years, if ever, as individual member states have a veto.

All very naive in my opinion, but we shall see as time will tell.

I'm not really sure how a Lawyer (An obvious expert on the framework of the EU) can predict anything about the economy.

He didn't convince me before and doesn't convince me now.

You would rather think that somebody who specialises in something that will become defunct would be biased.

What are you on about? If people can't accept a democratic result and are still moaning and STILL INSULTING the people who voted leave, surely we can point that out.

I would have thought that the thread is being ruined by bad losers and keyboard warriors, who sit behind a computer and insult people.

It's like the end sequence of the Benny Hill show on here at times except the usual suspects chasing him are not pretty with large breasts.

Deeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr der der der ......
