REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Well sorry about that. Can't help it if basic economics hasn't reached Cordoba.

I assume Alternate for Germany are about as likely to win next years GE as UKIP are here?

Yep George has said the Euro is under pressure, you must have forgotten about the other bit he said...

Mr Soros also predicted the European Union itself would likely “disintegrate” following the UK’s exit, as other member states begin to call for their own referendums.

“That catastrophic scenario that many feared has materialised, making the disintegration of the EU practically irreversible,” he writes.

No chance of them winning outright but they may get a part in a coalition depending how the results go.

I wouldn't think so. Any say they have in government would be likely to be extremely minor.

Yes I know he said that, I actually took time to read the link before I put up....

Just pointing out that he said calamity was in store for both sides of the vote was just helping you out as you must have forgot to put up the bit where he said the UK economy was going down the toilet as well.

He actually said it when everyone thought the leave side had a plan if they won, so wonder how he assess the situation now.

Oh okay, so totally pointless article in the Express.
You have to remember Germany regularly has small parties who through PR get a minor share in a coalition. But their ability to influence things is more often than not negligible.

My point has always been, that the EU is doomed.
Which the link agrees with!

No article in the Express is pointless for them at the moment. Well, bar the weather ones!

They have nailed themselves to the Hard Exit mast and you would expect all articles and editorials to push positives from that outcome. Not necessarily backed up by unbiased facts, obviously. But, in balance, every Guardian article is going to fit their Brexit is a disaster agenda. Appealing to their differing readerships

The guardians painful at the moment. I'm worried pollys going to explode soon.

The Guardian has much wailing and gnashing of teeth. It's understandable though. And at the same time no more or less correct as journalism than the Express output on this issue. Each paper has positioned itself and so be it, really.

I haven't paid much attention to the papers, but having just read a few article links on Twitter and Facebook, I assume The Mail has Brexit bias?

Yes, but not as extreme as I actually expected. The Express has been far, far more on the Brexit side. Not to say that the Mail has been callow about their position. More that the Express has been very extreme.

Even Doreen has seen the need to speak out.

Pre brexit, Credit Suisse were forceasting UK GDP growth of 2.3% next year, now they're predicting a 1% reduction.

That 3.3% swing represents about 70 billion pounds.

Still, that 350m quid, eh?
