REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Is anyone else considering coverting pounds to euro, us dollars, anything really even at the current shitty exchamge rates... probably aus dollars or swiss franks are the most stable longterm

I don't think my local Asda accepts Dollars, so no

I think I will do, I use coinbase so it's quite easy to flip between currencies. Might have missed the boat slightly.

No, you don't confuse people.

This deal (shit on a stick) or Remain.

That is it.

In that scenario, the deal gets accepted.
Because everyone who voted leave will vote for the deal rather than remain and some of those who voted remain will vote for the deal just so things can 'move on'.

Whereas if there was a 'no deal' option it would split the 'leave' vote somewhat.

If the remainer faction had any gumption they would want 'no deal' on the second referendum paper.

So a lot of people who voted down May's deal seem to be ready to vote for Johnson's. This one seems to be close with some saying he could get it over the line.

I think it'll pass, albeit narrowly. It's not no deal, not enough MPs will back a 2nd vote, people 'want it done' etc.

Johnson will be lauded as the PM who delivered Brexit and the asset stripping will commence en masse, with his orange friend from the other side of the Atlantic running his slimy hands with glee.

I fear tomorrow will be a very dark day indeed for this country.

I'm really nervous about tomorrow. There won't be any more than 10 votes in it either way. If that cunt wins, then it's all over and can't be stopped.

ERG will vote for it, because of the opportunity to deregulate on employment and environmental issues
The excommunicated Tories will vote for it because it's not No Deal and many will want back in
The Labour 19 will because of constitueny worries and after writing to the EU for a deal they'll feel obliged to vote now there is one.

It's getting through

And it will turn into no deal as soon as De Pfeffel mysteriously forgets to put the Implementation Legislation before parliament in time. With no way to stop it. Fucking bostin news.

The withdrawal deal is largely irrelevant no matter how it is spun. As mentioned elsewhere it is largely the deal negotiated by May. The key bit about the backstop was it was only ever intended to be used in the absence of alternative arrangements, well we now have alternative arrangements - that these arrangements are largely similar to plans previously rejected by the right of the Tory Party barely gets a mention by those same MPs calling it the best deal possible.

The direction of future travel is what is causing salvation amongst the ERG and their ilk - make no mistake this is an ideological decision that will enable economic policies that even Thatcher would have baulked at.

I predict we will be back in the EU within 10 years...assuming we ever leave.

Looks like he's got enough support from the expelled Tories and up to 9 Labour votes too, commentators suggesting he has a majority of two.

I have seen it about 2 the other way.

Its going to be tight as a gnat's chuff that is for sure.

Raab and The Spectator both saying a strength of this deal is that Northern Island will enjoy frictionless trade with EU. My brain hurts.

The person presenting it. They like Johnson.

It looks like he is going to sneak this over the line unless the Letwin amendment passes.

Excellent from Peter Kyle this afternoon. Absolutely ramming it back in Maybot's face.
