REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Lib Dems binning the idea of a 2nd ref and going straight in with revoke A50 in their manifesto for the GE

Watched the last couple of hours or so of "debate". Most of it pathetic.

Johnson is a wretched figure. Appalling body language, constantly rolling his eyes and harrumphing to himself. Like a stroppy 12 year old kid.

A nod to the awful Nicky Morgan who sat right next to him and was hollering away at Corbyn. You fundamentally disagree with the buffoon sat three inches to your left, you moron.

And Johnson gets even fewer votes than last time. 293.

Total prat.

Thought exactly the same whilst watching between 11.30-1am in the early hours.
I think that a number of politicians (eg Caroline Lucas amongst others) have no trust in johnson acting lawfully.

2nd ref: You can't ignore the will of the people, brexit means brexit.

Law text: Ignoring this law in particular, I don't like it.

Nice.

A source inside Number 10 tells me the PM & Gove have said if Yellowhammer documents are released into is the public domain “Brexit is over” in cabinet meeting.
This would explain why MPs raised information suggesting Gov't is circumventing publishing the Yellowhammer docs

Makes you wonder why they would push on with something so obviously damaging to the country. Almost like there might be something in it for them personally. #taxhavens

The court of sessions in Scotland has ruled that Boris Johnson’s decision to prorogue parliament for five weeks was unlawful.

Not if the Supreme Court agrees, he won't.

Can't handwave this one- it is unprecedented for a PM to have been found guilty by the courts of lying to the monarch in British history.

Resignation would be the least-worst way out of it for him, and that'd honestly be best-case scenario.

Exactly.

As Jo Maugham put it earlier, it's now very much game on. The cup final will be at the Supreme Court next week.

They're supposed to reveal all the Yellowhammer stuff today too. Whether they do or not is another matter, Megamind is already in contempt of Parliament so it doesn't really matter to him if it happens again.

Think they have said they wont be releasing the papers as it will cause concern for the public! It might have been Leadsom who said that but I was only half listening

If I'm honest I admit I'm secretly hoping for a hard brexit and the absolute shambles that would cause for the few months until UK realises how fucked they are and came crawling back to the EU... pound dropping drastically and properties (outside london) halving in value for a while like in america after 2008... astute buyers could set yourself up for life
Wont happen though, deadlines will go by and everything will gradually go back to normal

I'd have preferred it if you'd have kept that secret, to be honest.

You know where most posters on here live don't you?
You know the impact your scenario would have on everybody's life and that of their families?

You have so little self awareness.
