REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

THM's just a eurosceptic quote bot. It's not programmed for cogent argument or to respond to questions, just to spit out a very limited amount of words in a random formation. The sooner people stop responding to it, the sooner Farage will unplug it.

I was responding to being wound up.

What you are really saying, is ignore anything that thinks dofferently to you. You have already demonstrated you can't take losing! Now you are trying to shut up people who think differently.

A few quotes from that:

In my part of South Wales houses are cheap enough as it is. My family and I worked hard to add to it's value and now most of that has been slashed away meaning we've lost a hell of a lot of money there. As for food prices, we already spend more than we'd like and this is before sprog #2 is weened...

Science funding affects my career and everyone else who works at a University in Wales. As my current contract winds down I'll be lucky to get a job doing research that's within reach as now I can't afford to move home and I'd rather not have to do something else having studied for getting on for twelve years... Regional funding is the worse (and yes, Gove had the audacity to say they would cough up the shortfall). This will see the Cardiff Metro and M4 relief mothballed, along with many other projects in Wales. As for the councils, they have already cut everything: libraries, parks, swimming pools, police, fire service, etc, all gone thanks to Conservative austerity and now we can expect more.

Worried doesn't even cover it, but I fail to see what I can do?

Well played Wales, well played

How many years have you been recieving subsidies and why have you still got so much deprivation? Welsh people voted leave, do you think it might have something to do with their lives not improving?

Says the man who admitted to defrauding the EU.

Have you ever been to Wales?

The reason that there is deprivation in south wales is fuck all to do with Europe. It is wholly to do with the main heavy industry in the mines being utterly fucking devastated.

Oh I forgot, people who voted out are idiots. I should put links up for democracy and another one for, don't know how to lose, but it would be a waste of time.

It's not a case of knowing 'how to lose'. I am not angry because I 'lost'. I am extremely fucking angry because me, my wife and my kids have just had our EU citizenship taken away from us through no fault of our own.

I wonder if it had been the same if you had won. This os all because you got out voted.

Really, the whole remain campaign knowingly deceived the public? Expert opinion was backed up by studies and reams of data. The brexit camp literally dismissed it all with a couple of soundbites and tonnes of empty rhetoric, in fact were happy to dismiss the opinions of experts because well "we've had enough of experts"

Con men and charlatans, the lot of them.

The regeneration of Cardiff (on going), the regeneration of the Valleys (on going), the regeneration of the A465 (Heads of the Valleys road) which links the valleys at the uppermost point, the regeneration of the rail network and the proposed Cardiff Metro (it's a full on transport revamp rather than a tram service like the Midland Metro) and that's before the independent buildings, etc, elsewhere are all there to improve the quality of life - and that's without talking about research jobs, etc, and the Universities which were/are prospering.

Dr Beeching obliterated the rail network in Wales. Thatcher (rightly or wrongly) obliterated the mining industry. There are still miners in the upper valleys even now out of work and have been ever since. Neighboring valleys knew each other were there but hardly anyone went between them. EU money revitalised the Valleys as best it could but for some people it will never be enough. Take that 21 year old in Ebbw Vale:

“What’s the EU ever done for us?” Zak Kelly, 21, asks me this standing next to a brand new complex of buildings and facilities that wouldn’t look out of place in Canary Wharf. It’s not Canary Wharf, though, it’s Ebbw Vale, a former steel town of 18,000 people in the heart of the Welsh valleys, where 62% of the population – the highest proportion in Wales – voted Leave.

To go there – along a new dual carriageway – and stand next to the town’s new sixth form and training college, a glass and steel architectural showpiece next to its new leisure centre, a few hundred yards away from a new train station, is to stare into the abyss of the UK’s failed Remain campaign.

Even Kelly, who has just finished a training session on a brand new football pitch, backtracks slightly after asking that question. “Well, I know … they built all this,” he says, and motions his head at the impressive facilities that are all around us

He's standing around all the stuff the EU has built for him but he's not happy and voted for change - all of that brings work for him to do but I guess he'd rather sit on his arse doing nothing?

Oh, Ebbw Vale is also building this. Want to guess where the majority of the funding comes from? The Welsh government is even re-opening the rail network up there. Yes, re-opening rail lines. Do you know how rare that is? Again, guess were the funding comes from?

Honestly, I just don't know what people in Wales want or are expecting.

Not fucking working is it?

But in what way is anyone trying to shut you up? Saying you'd be better off ignored is not the same as saying you shouldn't be allowed to spout whatever nonsense comes into what passes for your brain.

How prominent are UKIP likely to be in the event of a snap GE? Behind the SNP in 4th?

And regarding not be able to "take losing". Just a reminder- this isn't a board game. It's people's lives. My life will actually be OK regardless, I should think. My business will probably benefit from the devaluation of the pound, but the lives of millions of others, particularly the "working class" will be adversely affected for a long time. Not something to crow about, I'd have thought.

Honestly, I just don't know what people in Wales want or are expecting.

I saw a Welsh leave voter interviewed last week. He stated that Wales was only getting back from the EU what the British Government were putting in so the British Government will effectively bankroll all such projects in the future.

I dont know how the fuck you are allowed to post a lie like that. Have some fucking decency and don't bullshitt.
I can't be arsed to trawl through all the reams of shite you post to find the particular post where you admitted paying the EU inspector off so he didn't report you for harvesting olives.

Feel free to contradict me though.

Your opinion doesn't mean It's true. I respect your opinion, i won't ask you to shut up, but I am sick to fucking death of listening of posts running the UK and sticking up for the Germans and French.

What's more, if I had voted remain and had to listen to the Germans taking this piss out of our democratic choice and listen to them bullying us and smirking, I would defend the UK and stand up for our democratic choice. There is an arrogance with some German ministers at the moment, that is fucking disgusting!!!

Quite. Maybe THM would like to contact Holly and tell her she's a bad loser. She's a loser alright, 75% of her business since last week.

Or maybe he'd like to address his 62% of allies in Ebbw Vale and congratulate them on possibly NOT having those 6000 jobs created with the MotoGP track should the finances disappear?

I said I was offered, I didn't say I paid. There is a big difference.
