Nope, not unless you know of any companies in the UK making Class 2 MID Ultrasonic Thermal Energy Meters (hint there aren't any)

I bought quite a lot of British pounds, this morning and Friday morning. I got fantastic deals. Doesn't that translate to buying British products, from the UK cheaper?

Short term it was always going to impact. They must be shitting themselves in the EU. Apparently the Germans will have to find an extra 15%.

A devalued £ will make our exports more competitive. In theory money will rush into the country. Eventually you get equilibrium.

Don't worry, they are planning on sending Britain the bill anyway. Just like they do to Norway and Switzerland.

We're just going to teach our 1.7 million unemployed how to make them and also find a way of manufacturing them at a lower cost, of course.

pffft, just buy something else then?

Oh classy, please do profit off our misery in this country

The late 80's were great for British workers weren't they. Would be lovely to recreate that sort of economic model again.... Frank, probably.

Yes, despite the best efforts of the EU protecting workers rights our manufacturing base collapsed.

We've had a false economy for as long as I can remember.

2016 Public spending doubled, national debt tripled and we had plenty of cheap unskilled labour in a service economy.

The EU didn't work.

This is the problem with a lot of the negativity behind it, it's all extremes. Yes, of course it's going to be impossible for us to manufacture products, but some will be as simple as cost.

For two years we are an active part of that undemocratic farce. It's up to the Germans to realign not the debt ridden EU members.

They can't see it though, Papper.

You think that Thatcher implemented EU policy??????????

I'd love to know how the EU was responsible for Thatcher. Please, please, PLEASE explain this.

What I imagine will happen is we'll strike some massively one sided deals with China & the US and flood our market with cheap products from China or subsidised products from the US. We have a right wing Tory government, if we were to go down the route of trying to manufacture ourselves we would need a protectionist government for at least a decade - that ain't going to happen

Of course the benefit of buying in bulk from China when we're no longer in the EU would be that we'd be no longer bound by all that silly 'red tape' concerning trifling matters such as 'safety'. Because who cares if stuff you buy burns your premises down.

To be fair its not much different today - if you ask a Chinese manufacturer what standard the product adheres to, you often get a response of what standard do you want it to adhere too?

Easy to answer. I was referring to 'workers rights' not Thatcher's attack on the working classes. All those screaming to remain in the EU because of the protection of workers rights ?? The EU didn't and doesn't protect workers rights. Barbara Castle did more for Workers Rights (Prior to the EU)

We are quite capable as a nation of not importing unsafe products. Hopefully the TTIL won't manifest either ..
