Speaking of beyond parody... I read an article by Peter Lilley yesterday. There were a lot of highlights but my favourite was the idea that there would be no chaos or delay at the Calais/Dover borders because HMRC and the French would agree to just wave lorries through with minimal or no checks to ensure no queues. It takes a special kind of cognitive dissonance to promote this lovely concept while simultaneously waving a big "Taking Back Control of Our Borders" banner.

We're not allowed to sign any deals until we either leave or have a withdrawal agreement tbf. However we clearly have nothing lined up.

A spokeswoman for EU Commission came out yesterday and for the first time said quite clearly, no deal will mean hard borders
