REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Corbyn makes pointless move that does nothing more than makes noise. He's pathetic, how could any opposition Party be trailing any Government in the polls which is so incompetent? Him being the Labour Party leader makes me cry bitter, bitter tears. The Momentum stuff is just an echo chamber which misses the wider electorate view spectacularly. My MP is his lapdog, I really think I'll go none of the above at the next election

Who the eff would actually want to be in charge right now? I don't see how any leader can actually win

This is the problem in a nutshell. It's not about winning it's about dealing with the mess. Got a person in who isn't a total cunt would be a start.

Government is incapable of coming up with a credible plan of action which is in the best interest of the people and the opposition are riddled with cunts who want to be in power without having a credible plan.

We could do with somebody who's got the bollocks to either extend A50 or cancel the whole fucking thing. It's a political suicide mission and an MP who doesn't need to rely on being a politician after March 29th would be ideal. Sadly that person doesn't exist.

Our political system is riddled with self serving cunts.

This is also part of our problem though. The Tory party horse is being whipped on by a bunch of independently wealthy arseholes who have no skin in the game other than the opportunity for personal enrichment. As Vis is fond of saying, a hard decision isn't really that hard if the person taking it isn't personally affected. Let's not forget, May herself is a pretty wealthy woman who'll be able to retire to the country quite comfortably when all this is done.

But they do rely on being a politician, not for money but for power.

Not everything is about money. The motives of those arseholes is something far darker.

But talking about money, here's how much money we've wasted on this ridiculous Brexit fiasco.

https://twitter.com/doctor_oxford/status/1074758678631329794

Never forget what that £4.2 billion could have been spent on:

840k hip replacements
91k nurses
91k paramedics
78k doctors
4200 CT scanners
2100 MRI scanners
12 entire NHS hospitals

What a grotesque waste of taxpayers' money. The lives that could have been saved.

Absolutely obscene.

It's still an argument for government by a monied elite - how else would they be able to do the full-time job of MP but not rely on that job for their security? It would just be a more philanthropic bunch of rich folk than are currently in charge. Even if that was desirable, I'm not sure enough of those people exist to fill Parliament.

You could of course have a profession to fall back on. Novel idea I know. MP's relying on being an MP for money is a terrible idea, the word bribery can't crop up fast enough.

Being a person in a profession doesn't automatically make you a person fit to hold public office, though. Chances are that the people who leave their professions to become an MP are people who fancy grabbing a bit of power. I can't buy into the idea that they'd all be heart-in-right-place good guys or gals intent on making the world a better place for their fellow man. You'd get some good ones, of course, just as you get good MPs now but you'd get your fair share of evil cunts as now also. Almost like people in professions are no different to the rest of humanity.

And that was my original point. The cunts we've got in now are doing it for power and not for the best interests of the constituents they represent.

I can't remember having a worse set of politicians in my lifetime.

Random guy gets into twitter spat. Demands to know if the guy he's arguing with has even read the Lisbon treaty. Opponent responds that he partially wrote it. Peak twitter.

Thats a smoker......

It looks very much like it'll be either no deal or no Brexit.

What worries me is that I wouldn't trust the Tories not to fuck over millions of people who will be affected by no deal purely to make a political point. It's not like it'll adversely affect their lives, is it? They've shown - appallingly so this week - that they'll do and say anything to try and get their own way, and desperately clinging on to power is their sole remaining objective.

They've made a mockery of the term 'democracy' by cancelling the Brexit vote in the house, then the vote of no confidence in the PM just days after saying a 2nd referendum was 'undemocratic'.

They had the gall to use the term 'silly political games' when Jezza called for a vote of no confidence yesterday.

JRM says he's now 'fully behind the PM' despite leading the vote against her only a week ago.

All hypocritical bullshit. And they won't flinch at fucking over millions of people to get their own way.

They're determined to push no deal through, and to hear IDS saying the EU are now ready to believe we'll take "no-deal" beggars belief. Cunts like him should be up against the proverbial fucking wall.

They will push no deal and when the inevitable consquences arrive they will say "we got you a nice deal but those cunts in opposition wouldn't vote for it". And the Mail will fucking lap it up.

3500 troops on standby for any no-deal Brexit crisis. Has anyone else ever had that anxiety dream where you wake up and you're in some unpleasant rogue state dystopia?

Think my favourite thing I have seen today on Twitter is Lord Digby Jones, who voted to end freedom of movement, kicking off that the EU will introduce a €7 visa fee for Brits travelling into the EU. He thinks that is a disgrace and as all Brexiters seem to do on Twitter, waffled on about the War.

Who would have thought that ending free movement would mean no free movement. Scenes indeed

Lord Digby Jones
‏So the EU are going to charge Brits €7 to travel to Member States after Brexit. Just a thought.......did any of them want to charge my Great-uncle Thomas in 1917 or my wife’s Dad or uncle in 1944?

Lord Digby Jones
‏And the Remainers want a 2nd Referendum to get us to stay with this load of bullies do they?!
