REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Fuck I would laugh if Brexit won a second vote. Where the fuck would remain go then? I refer you to my post below

The trouble is apathy. I reckon you get a 60% turn out max. They won't among remain voters. We would all be out in MASSIVE force, especially all the under 21s All the Grey's get the postal vote. So does everyone else. Big fucking deal I thought remain would win first time. They can't have a binary second choice So a pr vote? Why not. Binary choice last time. Binary choice this time seems actually fairer. Fuck off with PR because you know you will lose binary[/B]

Face up. We are leaving. It's toast. The bridges are being burnt even if May gets beaten. I still have a sneaky feeling that horrendous deal gets through. We aren't leaving. The government will lose this vote by nearly 200 votes. And then May is dead politically. The bridges are only burnt by hardline Brexiters like Farage and Rees Mogg. Tusk and Co have already said they will happily extend A50 to allow a second referendum. Hardly like a burnt bridge at all is it.
My case rests

I think if the British public were stupid enough to vote Out in a second referendum Remainers would leave the Brexiters to it. The reality is they won on false promises last time and now a majority of the electorate will be able to make a more informed decision and Keira Knightley can rest easy!

Keira's virtue is I am sure completely safe

Both Kiera herself and Squeeze are delighted at this news!

What will Cyber do if remain wins? Where will you go then?

Whatever and wherever I want to Johnny. Perhaps an Olive grove somewhere? Or go and help on my sons farm and get some subsidies?

In all seriousness, if remain won I wouldnt die in a ditch. In no way would I still be taliking about it 2.5 years after the vote. If remain won my only hope would be that the whole lot here and in the EU learn from this and understand the depth of feeling a little bit more than governments both Labour and Tory , did in the last 15 years. Whatever I think the United states of Europe is dead now. If we hadnt voted out that would have still been on the table and a strategic direction. Merkel is finished too. And it has confirmed the UK as brave ( or stupid enough without a plan, depending on your view) to dig its heels in when it knows something is fundementally wrong. Whetever happens from here on in such EU arrogance, such Tory arrogarnce is off the political agenda for the rest of my life. Whetever happens now, job done.

Its better to fight and lose than roll over and have your tummy tickled. There are a few bloody noses out there than needed to happen.
Cameron
Merkel
Juncker
me!

If the vote was binary I would probably vote leave, yes even without a plan , even knowing it creates chaos- thats why you cannot give people like me a binary choice. If it is a second vote it has to differ from the first or it will create similar chaos. That benefits remain.

Soft Brexit
Hard Brexit
Remain.

PR. you get 2 choices. My first choice is soft Brexit. My second choice is remain.

But that wont happen so I would probably not vote as apathy would have kicked in with me by then- just being honest. So thats one less vote for leave. My wife would not be arsed either. So thats one less remain vote. I feel its a bit like Scotland on independence. Been there , done that. There is only appetite from remianers to get the vote overturned, just like only SNP members want another independence vote

Then you really know what youre getting and voting for. On that I vote soft brexit. Always said you dont need to throw the baby out with the bath water. The EU positioning , determined to give nothing got us here. If Cameron had got what he promised us in 2013 when he went to the EU in Feb 2016 this whole thread would be moot. So , that was my argument then and its my argument now.

Three options would make the vote pointless.

Even if everyone voted the same you’d have Brexiter split between two option making it a landslide for remain.

PR doesn't work on this one. Soft Brexit would win because every Remain voter would vote that as number 2 behind no Brexit.

What is soft Brexit now though Cyber? You said if you did vote, you'd vote for that, but have said previously you wouldn't vote for May's deal, surely that is soft Brexit now? The 3 option are that, remain or hard.

The simple fact is the May deal absolutely won't make it to a second referendum ballot paper. It either passes parliament or it dies.

At that point, it really is a binary choice as there will be no further negotiations from the EU. We either remain or we get fucked up by Hard Brexit.

Interesting cover on the Heil this morning with the results of their "specially commissioned" survey. I would LOVE them to tell who they asked Survation to collate data from...

The main question they are using as evidence of public support is 52% of people agree that it's not ideal, but the best deal we are going to get. If asked I'd say yes to that, but doesn't mean I support it.

The Chancellor has admitted that all forms of Brexit will leave us poorer than if we remain. What a shock!

But to remain is not "politically viable"*

*translation - the Conservatives would lose power.

So they are now publicly committed to make us a poorer nation. Brilliant.
