REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

"I hadn't realised quite how important picking a goalkeeper was"

"I hadn't realised quite how far away Australia is, it's only a few inches on the map I've got"

"I hadn't realised quite how dangerous pneumatic drills can be"

Honestly, it's another level of stupidity.

"I hadn't realised quite how important picking a goalkeeper was"

"Until the wife pointed it out" Stuart Pearce when picking his first team as a manager...

I didnt realise how important it was to turn out and vote remain
I didnt realise how damaging it was to vote tory

the list can go on and on and for both sides.

That's hardly the same as the bloke basically in charge of this process admitting he hadn't got a clue about such an important issue.

Anyway, looks like things are coming to a head and May is looking to agree a border down the Irish Sea. That is going to seriously piss off the DUP, so we could be heading for minority government very quickly indeed.

Jo Johnson quits calling for a second referendum. Its like we are caught in some interminable Eton debating clubs full of twats & tossers

He is correct though and I applaud his stance.

“It has become increasingly clear to me that the withdrawal agreement, which is being finalised in Brussels and Whitehall even as I write, will be a terrible mistake,” he said in an online article.

He said the public were being offered “an agreement that will leave our country economically weakened, with no say in the EU rules it must follow and years of uncertainty for business” or a no-deal Brexit “that I know as a transport minister will inflict untold damage on our nation”.

Bit late though.

Doesn't change the fact he is a racist fuckhead either.

The annoying thing is that it was blindingly obvious from outset that people like these were going to be in charge. Even if you could make a sensible, rational case for Brexit, no-one in their right mind should have voted for it because these stupid, ignorant people were going to be implementing it.

If there's one thing that characterises the modern Tory politician, it's that they are immensely lazy. OK, you don't know everything about your ministerial brief before you take up the position but you should bloody well put in the work early on to learn.
Combine that with the fact that these people are personally insulated from the consequences of their actions by wealth and privilege - the people driving us off the cliff have their parachutes strapped on and ready to go -and you have a recipe for absolute disaster. All as predicted endlessly on this very thread before the referendum, so let's hear no more about "hindsight".

Cunts.

Post of the year.

I was misled!

A nasty tory mp lied to me

I wasnt misled. Neither side gave any facts. Both sides lied. It appears leave seemed to lie a bit more often given the last 2 years. Hindsight, yes I will use that , says that the absolute twattist decision was to offer a binary vote. In/ Out.

Still havent seen any sensible way to solve it other than overturn the result. And you have to do better than that. You have to find a solution which allows both sides some wins and enough wiggle room for politicians to save face. I suppose the only way that happens if all sides get prosecuted for lying as Sugar says. Not going to happen though is it?

so a general election then?

Tried that -country fucked it up

Referendum- tried that Cameron and the country fucked it up.

Grow some bollocks and say its an advisory referendum and after looking at all the implications and facts we cannot leave until we know what leave means and the country gets to vote on it. Sensible start.

That's just not true. This thread wasn't opened until after the referendum...

There was an earlier thread which we had to shut if you remember, because THM arsed it up quite badly.

Ah, fair enough... I like a stickler for accuracy...

In that case, please read it as "all as predicted endlessly on this very forum before the referendum"

I believe "Cunts." to be an accurate statement though.

Cunts is a very highly accurate assessment of the closed thread iirc.

A withdrawal agreement agreed between the UK and the EU?

Will it get through cabinet and Parliament?

The principal document is 400 pages long, apparently. You have to wonder what sort of scrutiny it's going to be given by our esteemed cabinet.

Hopefully our side haven't cribbed loads of it from Wikipedia again.
