You could argue the same about London and the rest of England. Some people will move, others won't and depending on lifestyle choices some people do actually take a drop in pay to work in a place that suits them better, for a whole number of reasons.

I notice you also leave out cost of living increases in there too. On the arguments on cheap labour, a perfect comparative example would be the Auf Wiedersehen Pet gangs of UK construction workers going abroad in the 70's and 80's and working on foreign construction sites (and it wasn't because they were better tradesmen). I know because my dad was in one of those gangs.

No you can't. London wages are higher sometimes 30 % higher. House prices can be up to 200% higher. My three bed terrace 10 miles from Cambridge is worth double what the equivalent is in Durham if not more. And my house is worth about half the price of an equivalent 3 bed in greater London.

I can buy a house for 5 k in Bulgaria and the average wage is less than 2 quid an hour or something stupid. The only way we migrate out to a country that significantly different in wages is with a pension to retire and live like kings see Portugal for instance. That's awful for our economy. All the pension money is paid by us and spent abroad. Significant amounts of money are sent home by migrant workers. Again that's bad for our economy great for theirs.

False equivalency really, do you not see the problem with representatives of a political party bemoaning the financial waste of the EU and then having the EU enrich them personally for no reason?

I would say it is closer to Benefit fraud than claiming Benefits.

There isn't a rise in racism, there always has been racism it's just that these people now think they are justified in espousing their beliefs, I recently read that article (i think you posted it)about Powell and his rivers of blood speech, what i didn't realise (I was only 2) was how popular he and his speech were ??
People haven't just become racist because of UKIP etc.

People are far more aware of language now than ever. Any racism now is deliberate not through ignorance of lack of understanding in the main.m

The ignorance at the moment is islam and a lack of knowledge relating to that religion and treating all Muslims as religious zealots. Again one nutter makes the news and suddenly the whole lot are terrorists. Some white kid commits a racist crime and suddenly all white kids are racist. Extremism either way is unacceptable. But it sells papers so go figure

Sorry I am being flippant!

Work, schools, colleges, universities all have overt policies with regard to race sex disability discrimination and the result is that reported cases are on the rise. Not because it's got worse but generally because people are empowered to dam N well do something about it and get support to make that challenge.

There will also no doubt be a rise in racial incidents as perceptions change.

Report challenge change fight and eventually racist , perverts, stalkers, sex offenders, paedophiles and the like will all be exposed for the scum they are. And that happens regardless of brexit
