REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

From what I can remember, Doom was not prominent in the pubs I went in. Certainly managed to have a decent pint wherever I went. Will double check when I am down there again in June and report back...

I remember it being everywhere in Truro though...including as massive Beer Tent during a food festival in the centre
Get to Falmouth, home of Verdant.

I think I've come to the conclusion that if I didn't have my kids, I'd be looking at living overseas. Sick to fucking death of this country, the fascism that seems to be coming acceptable in society, the utter fucking idiocy of too many people living here (the tragic Alfie Evans case has really annoyed me - mouthbreathing fucktards abusing hospital staff - what the fuck is wrong with you?), the government lying through their back teeth constantly, their dismantling of the NHS, the way they're screwing up my kids' education, their comments recently on the Windrush generation, and that's before we get to this complete clusterfuck that is Brexit. And all of this with no real alternative - Labour's lack of opposition is staggeringly incompetent and incredibly frustrating. It's a right fucking mess. Oh, and the shit weather.

Not much 'Great' about Great Britain, is there?

I periodically make the empty threat to move back to Germany. Not done so for a while actually. I quite obviously could do it if I wanted to, I'd lose a lot of stuff here though that's going well. As a country I hold next to zero warmth for the UK in its current state, it's not a nice place.

Was he off his tits on coke for that interview? He's all over the fucking place.

Fox is banging on about the will of the people again. Apparently the lords are undermining the will of the people. Really wish someone interviewing him would ask how adam werrity was conducting the will of the people, as don't seem to recall him being democratically elected either?

Good luck living in somewhere like Spain then...

Seriously?! I've been down that way a few times and there's more likelihood of that muck being behind the bar than there are seats in the pub. That and Skinners, which is also pretty vile.

I'm doing Cornwall a disservice though. Lovely place.

Atlantic isn't too bad a pint.

Good job Liam Fox gets on really well with the *stans as we are going to have really nail the free trade agreements with them to make up for losing most of the world:

...agreed.

...for your average Brexiteer there is no room on a broom for a Frog (you can then add 26 other derogatory names for other EU members).

Nice speech. And your average brexiter never really said that at all. The average brexiter had very little issue with the EU or immigration until after 2006 when the over ambitious EU project made it extremely attractive for former eastern bloc countries to join and then under freedom of movement come to the UK to work. It was pretty much a one way street. Very few brits went the other way to work in Romania Poland Bulgaria etc etc. So , as one of the main EU Countries driving the expansion was Germany it is a little ironic he finds himself in this position. I appreciate he is feeling uncertain. Twas unfortunately ever going to be thus once the vote had happened. There is plenty of great freedom of movement and work amongst the EU members pre 2006. After then it all changes. It all gets a little skewed. Thats where it really blew up. Too much too soon and too attractive one way.

As of 2016 Polish born residents of the UK 911,000. UK born residents working in Poland 4500.
2014 Number of romanians and Bulgarians resident in the UK 413000. Brits living in Romania and Bulgaria? Under 12000.

Thats a 1.3 Million deficit. That can only have happened post 2006. Thats why people voted Brexit.

I work with about 100 Poles. They work fucking hard and contribute hugely. And those jobs are available for British people had they wanted them.

Maybe he can use all these people that don’t want to be on zero hour contracts?

Forcing people to work on farms sounds more Pol Pot than a bright new future to be honest.
