REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

I think the idea is it gives everybody enough to buy food and not live in poverty. But it still has the incentive for people to work.

So regardless of whether you earn $100k a year or $20k a year, you'll get an extra $500 a month?

That's the idea. Although I think it will be aimed at poorer communities for the pilot.

Hmmmm.

Is it taxable? Pensionable?

Say we did it here then - £500 a month per worker. Say that is 40 million people. Isn't that £20bn a month? So £240bn a year. And you remove the welfare budget to cover it? But we keep the NHS? Not sure the sums are going to add up are they?

Don't we already spend about 260 on welfare? Would create a lot of economic activity too.

I honestly don't know what the welfare budget is. If the sums do add up in that way, then I think I would lean toward being in favour. It has to be better than the brutality and punishment of the current system.

You'd cut away all the money that petty bureaucracy costs. The Government spend more money penalising people at the moment than they would if they just paid them anyway.

Hmmmmm - I have to say it interests me.

You would have to remove the super cheap housing benefit I guess, and would you expect everyone to then pay council tax (maybe still with a reduced rate) rather than many families on benefit having a peppercorn rent and zero rated council tax?

Also no need for a play pension plan so more money for house and life today. Less issues for a population that's ageing as ubi is for all. If you die no widows pension. No child benefit. Really really simple way to start the true social community started. Would or could he a post brexit starter too

That isn't a pisstake. It is a display of overwhelming ignorance though, like this quote:

Also, telling everyone what porn he's buying.

Unfortunately, society is heading further that way.

Jesus LJ, it's clearly a pisstake! I'd advise you to read the profile of his mates like Fazza and "Smasher"

Actually quite funny. Someone very witty has put these together

Question, as I don't nderstand this stuff. If we're in such a great position economically, and it should be blindingly obvious to everyone, why was the FT reporting yesterday the LSE is the worst performing market across the past year?

The price of companies doesn't really reflect how the UK economy is going.

For example: The FTSE 100 has dropped over 600 points this week, which is down to rate change threats rather than the economy slumping.

Anyway, the LSE has performed pretty well over the last year or so.

Most of the companies in the FTSE100 and even 250 get most of their earning from overseas anyway, so the crash in the £, after the Brexit vote, actually helped increase their earnings.

The Foreign Secretary, ladies and gentlemen.

He is a fucking imbecile. Hopefully his continued appearance at the front of the Brexit bandwagon ensures a second referendum.

He tried to convince us remainers to get onside. Miserable failure. I want the whole fucking thing abandoned more every second.

There is no chance of a second referendum

Well I'm just pleased that Johnson's speech wasn't just a load of empty rhetoric and buzz words. It was also good to see some detailed analysis of how 'we' will all make it work. Top stuff, Bojo. I can't see how it will be anything other than a roaring success.
