REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

I rarely post on political threads now. My views are known, people don't agree and that's that. To many other things to do rather than argue the toss with fellow fans. I prefer to agree to differ and walk away.
It's not the viewpoint or opinion Cyber it's how it is expressed and the 'facts' used to support it. As I have said before on this thread even though I fundamentally don't agree with you, you have always done so admirably.....others less so.

We're really going to have to put in a big team effort to maintain the 'comma count' on here now if that berk really isn't coming back.

Oh no, I think I might be in trouble now because I agree with all of this. I do think it does get a bit too abusive on this thread though. I've disagreed with some on here and it's been fine. But some posters make it a bit personal ? We are all just giving opinions. None of us can know exactly how things will pan out after we leave. But it's a sad day when a fellow Wolves supporter feels inclined to stop posting on any subject on this forum, whatever opinions we hold. As I previously said, does it really matter that much ?

I agree with you, and sadly I rarely post on political threads now, particularly after very personal comments aimed at me. The sad thing is if the few of us on here who are not on the left of politics stop posting, then the others will just be agreeing with each other all the time particularly when being critical of the Government.

You tell us what they're doing well then rather than using 'But Labour' as the only argument.

Absolutely. I think this happened for many before voting in the Referendum. Why risk ridicule and abuse, when you can just keep your mouth shut and vote Leave. THM is just a Wolves fan who voted the same way as 17.4 million people. But I read some comments on here and see people in a different light.

Interesting point, but if you believe something you shouldn't be ashamed to say it - if someone is ashamed of saying what they think, then personally I would suspect they know their views are shameful.

THM is a special case, he's basically been saying the same thing repeatedly for at least a year and it has been rather tiring - it's certainly kept me away from these threads for a while. And I still find it truly bizarre that an immigrant to another EU country can spend a good proportion of his day arguing why others shouldn't be able to do exactly what he has done.

After many months of enjoying THMs contribution it is actually hardly surprising. There are leave voters who express themselves brilliantly in the debates on here. Cyber is a good example. Saying that, I hope THM regrets his call and comes back, as it certainly keeps things lively.

And the whole "leftist" thing I think slightly misses the mark too. I am definitely right of centre. Conservative voter for every election I have been able to vote in bar 1997. I am thoroughly, utterly pissed off with the May government, and still angry at David Cameron for his role in all this coming to pass.

What I am trying to say is that I don't think splitting things on party lines on the Referendum issue is actually helpful or accurate.

Why does that bother you ? Do all your family and friends think the same way as you ? Vote the same way as you ? Debate the same way as you ? I read people on here wanting healthy debate but just because THM debates in a way that some don't like, he gets hounded off the forum. Sounds like mob rule and intimidation to me ?

I'm on about Frank moaning about how all everyone does is bash the Tories. Yet what do you expect when not even their own supporters can tell us what positive work they're doing? The default response is always a 'but Labour' one.

They get hammered because they're a Government that is mean spirited and cruel, devoid of achievements, comprised of awful people. Not because there's a Corbynite cabal on here. I created a thread only last month and the vast majority have no intention of ever voting for him.

Hi Tred, is that down to perception of how people interpret what he says because they disagree with him ? I saw it as him having a problem with freedom of movement and unskilled labour and people having nothing to offer the UK ? I don't agree with many on here but I wouldn't wish to abuse or ridicule them because of their views. You can get that online with The Daily Mail or The Guardian.

IMO I think it was just saying the same thing again and again x billion and refusing to debate anything said.

Most on here are remainers, myself included, but there have been some good debates about both sides, just not with THM (again IMO).

Frank thinks it's all a leftist conspiracy :) despite paddy and Johnny definitely not being lefty, I'm not sure I am these days either.

Indeed. It is sad that THM felt he had to withdraw from this section because of the comments aimed at him.

The vast majority on here are very much anti Conservative, which is fine, but hardly representative of the country as a whole. And my point was that I do not contribute much on politics because of personal comments aimed at me.

By one person, who has consistently offered an ignore list amnesty with you.

I do not think it is a conspiracy by anyone, but this forum is definitely to the left of politics. And it is definitely not representative of the country as a whole.

That's probably a good thing :)

It's certainly part of the reason why I still post here.
