REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

To have a snap election you would need to repeal the parliament act. Doable. But you only call snap elections normally if you think you can win. Last night tells Cameron anything it tells him he isn't exactly popular.

Or a 2/3 majority in the HoC.

And that is one part of what local Remain campaigners should have been pushing.
Showing regenerated areas via euro cash where local councils had no intention
of touching but for the persistance of certain folks.

Make people appreciate their own surroundings and feel good about the country they live in.

What with the new expected recession, what will happen to this HS2 bollocks now.

HS2 should never of started in the first place. The money should of been pumped into improving the whole Rail Network

Feel gutted. Particularly dissapointed with the Wolverhampton result. Feeling very nervous about the next few years from an economic point of view, public services, housing, rich-poor divide, NHS, jobs etc.

But I'm just as heartbroken by the types of people who are my age that voted leave and are enthused by the result and whos narrow-minded, xenophobic and ignorant views have been totally ratified.

AS one of my FB friends eloquently put: "We had a choice. We chose Farage over Hawkins"

Lycan - what's the job market for a school IT Manager like round your way?!

Fook me, FTSE down 7% already:

House builders getting destroyed, definitely no money for WOlves now from Morgan...

Edit FTSE100 now down 8%, FTSE250 down 12.5%.

Billions and billions wiped off economy now.

17m to 16m sees the anti-immigration nutjobs take it then.

I have no idea what that means for us as I don't follow this stuff but I hope they don't start complaining about the effects now they have the result.

Rumour that Cameron is going to resign when doing his speech. Doubt it but that is what the BBC are reporting from the press outside Number 10

I was very disappointed in Wolverhampton my home city voting 63% out, clearly I'm out of touch with most of the people I live near to.
Already been accused on Facebook of being un patriotic for voting remain.

Never really thought there would be a brexit, this is going to rock all europe and i bet there will be more votings in other countries too

He's going I think, wife out with him

Amusing and disturbing listening to Leave politicians who clearly hadn't expected to win nor had given much thought to what happens next.

Haha, fuck you morons;

"Nigel Farage, the Ukip leader, saying he could not guarantee that an extra £350m a week would go to the NHS as a result of the UK leaving the EU. He told ITV that that was a promise from the Vote Leave campaign, not from him. He would not have made it, he said."

Fucking hell, he has resigned!!

New leader by October. Will remain in charge until then.

Bring on PM Johnson....

Cameron quits, sometime in the future...

Just like the Prime Minister didn't think he would win the election so offered a referendum.
