QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

My first New Year session, lager, pernod, tia maria, various whiskies......it was about minus 5 outside, walked into our last pub and they had a log fire on the go, it was so warm..... got a pint, slumped up the fruit machine..........and threw up everywhere and passed out \o/ Rough as fuck the next day

Pernod and Tia Maria are just an awful combination to mix. I learnt the hard way !

I'm on way to a Tuesday evening session. Gonna have to sweat it out at spin in the morning otherwise tomorrow will be a right off. Good job I only have to walk down a flight of stairs to get to the office!

The only drinking experience that's caused me to be sick is when I was in the Dominician Republic and had 3 shots of 151 on top of 10 shots of sambuca but woke up with no hangover.

Cant drink Tequila either. Awful stuff.

Right, last two for the day.

What woud you rather do, age from the neck up, or neck down?

Eat a can of dog food for a thousand quid?

And describe myself in two words

Misanthrope , Volatile

Neck down

I wouldnt but it cant be worse than some burgers I have had in other countries( USA Mcdonalds and its reclaimed beef springs to mind!)

Favourite flavoured crisps ??

Last time you had a hangover ?

What chore do you hate doing ?

Smoky Bacon
I dont get hangovers, no matter how drunk I get as long as I drink either port, brandy, red wine or combination of the three. Last hangover 1980
Changing the Bed. I do it every week but I hate it.

Love Tequila. Can't stand sambuca though, horrible stuff.

I usually go for real ales or whiskey but if I'm on a proper night out I'll usually stick to lager/spirits.

,then started on Pernod.

Went through a period at a similar age when this was the drink of choice - was introduced to it by parents of a school friend who were somewhat bohemian & very different from my own parents who rarely drank (& then only the occasional Malt whisky for my dad, he was Scottish, & G&T for mum).

Went off it when I got back into sport more heavily (when beer was back on the menu & would have been mocked mercilessly asking for a Pernod - though suspect that most of the places we drank in wouldn't know what it was anyway)

Pernod was my drink of choice for a couple of years at the monday night disco at the Belfry, in the Elbow Room, it was always Rye and dry Old Fashioned, could still drink that now, but a pernod, no chance!

What's the worst drinking experience you've had?

The worst aftermath was my 21st.

Myself & 2 friends had been on a tour party through Morocco the previous summer & got heavily into wine (the beer tasted like cats piss & the water was unreliable).

This was an era when the general populace had not got into drinking wine, but despite this I had got a shedload in (+ other stuff) for the party.

Approx. 2am when the others had gone virtually all of the wine was left so Brian, Derek & I decided to finish it off. They were staying over, but none of us could manage the stairs when we finished so lay sprawled around the lounge until about 9am when my Dad unreasonably forced us to wake up as he had agreed to take the other 2 out to the A30 to hitch back to Southampton.

How the hell they got anyone to give them a lift given the state they were in is beyond me even now as all I wanted to do was to go and die in a darkened room.

When I spoke to Derek later that week still don't think he had any recollection of the return journey :icon_biggrin:

Creme Egg or Walnut Whip ?

What is a perfect, ideal day out for you ?

If you were in a restuarant and your food was not hot when it got to you, would you complain ?

How do you like your Steak ?

I felt a bit like how Derek felt as I cant remember the journey home. Swore I would never do that again, and I havent .

Walnut Whip

What is a perfect, ideal day out for you ?

A day out with no incident.

If you were in a restuarant and your food was not hot when it got to you, would you complain ?

Yes & I'd demand to speak to the manager. If I was with people I'd want a refund because by the time mine comes back they'd have nearly finished.

How do you like your Steak ?

I don't

Walnut Whip.

Yes.

Med rare.

Just cover it in peppercorn sauce and chase it through a warm kitchen.

This man speaketh sense. It's meat, not a shoe. As bloody as possible.

I'm going to be eating a rare steak in about half an hour. Nom nom....

I dont mind blood, but dont like it on the same plate as other stuff, for example , couldnt stand to eat blood soaked chips.

Enjoy , and no doubt with a pint or two of a finest Ale :)

Having read through the last few pages I have come to the conclusion that alcoholics anonymous would be happy to sponsor this forum......

As a teenager we used to drink lots of Campari, nothing in it. Once we went from Birmingham to Newquay by train, and several bottles of campari later 6 inebriated teenagers staggered off the train.
