Premier League: Relegation Race

None of the bottom the are getting 35 PTS this season.

Edit: Ninja'd

Yep, we could lose every game to the end of the season and still probably survive.

Are we officially saying Big Sam's target of 38 points is not likely then?...

More chance of them conceding a further 38 goals in their remaining games.

Sheff United look like they have the best hope of doing anything.

I thought people were saying "new manager bounce" was a myth the other week? Chelsea with three wins and a draw since TT took over. Obviously it helps if you have decent players. BFS hasn't had much of an impact for Albion because his squad is shite (although they still managed to beat us...)

Also interesting to see Southampton are on a 5 game losing streak with two games up against us in the next week. Let's hope they don't put an end to that run!

Chelsea are just reverting to the mean given their squad and who they've played. Lampard was underperforming (and/or the players had stopped playing for him, whatever).

It isn't really a thing, it's a case-by-case affair. If Fulham appointed Max Allegri tomorrow then they'd probably start doing a bit better as he's obviously a better manager than Scott Parker. But if they re-appointed Felix Magath they'd start doing worse as he needs sectioning.

We're bottom of the table for recent away form so should be looking to pick up 3 points at home on Sunday

Opening this again so people can discuss the bottom teams.

Any mention of Wolves in the relegation battle and I'll send Paddy round with his grater.

Would love for Newcastle to get dragged into the shit but its unlikely as they will get a point next week in their 1-1 draw with us and will fluke a couple of wins despite having 1 shot in goal in the 97th minute

I will get the others up later on but had these elsewhere. So 6 points now with Fulham on 19 and Newcastle 25. The thing that could work in Fulhams favour is them winning their next two and Newcastle losing both there's. Meaning the pressure starts to get on them, I get there is more left to the season than just this but really feel they need to close to within Newcastle prior to the LFC and City run, when Newcastle get there easier games versus us, Brom and Villa.

Fulham fixtures
@Burnley -DRAW
Sheff Utd
@Palace
@Liverpool
City

Newcastle
@Chelsea
@Utd
Wolves
@wba
Villa

Fulham remaining games and how they’ll realistically see their points coming from to stay up

Sheff Utd H W
Palace A W
Liverpool A L
Man City H L
Leeds H W
Villa A L
Wolves H W
Arsenal A L
Chelsea A L
Spurs H L
Burnley H W
Southampton A D
Man Utd A L
Newcastle H W

gives them 38 points even then Newcastle would need less than a point a game.

On a side note Albion pretty much have to win their next 4 games v Burnley, BHA, Newcastle & Palace to stand any chance. Even then they’re probably going to have to win a few unexpected games.
