That makes sense.

I don't doubt Lage has come on Jorge's recommendation, I'm not an idiot, but conspiracy theories that we're on the carousel now and this is part of getting Nuno a shiny new job at another Mendes club whilst lumbering us with an idiot is wide of the mark in my opinion.

Literally Jorge's right hand man is with him in Wolverhampton to broker the deal! That is courtesy of John Percy and Fabrizio.

As I said, I'm sure he has come on his recommendation - I just don't think this is part of a wider conspiracy.

People said similar when Neto and Jordao arrived, "oh we are on the carousel now" (not on here). I'm just willing to see how Lage pans out I think, I know zilch about him.

Not sure that proves a great deal other than what we already know about our business with Jorge.

Apart from banning 1 for calling their deals money laundering of course. Don't think many called their signings anything other than potentially dodgy. Turns out, we did OK with the deal.

Course we are. Like Benfica are. Atlético, Valencia, Bordeaux and others. It's part of the scheme. That does not mean it doesn't benefit us.
 
To be fair, there is absolutely fuck all i can do in the choice of manager at WWFC. For sure i don't have to agree on other people's views just for the sake of it though. I don't think this is a good choice for our new manager. Whether that is right or wrong we will find out. Hopefully not to the teams cost.
 
It’s almost like Jeff Shi isn’t a football man and knows fuck all about who the best manager for this football club should be, so he’s asked his mate Jorge Mendes to pick someone for us.

This really won’t help the “Jorge Mendes/Portugal FC” brigade.

I don’t know enough about Lage to comment on whether he’s the right man or not. But I very much suspect Shi will come out and claim it was his or Fosun’s decision, and that Lage is “his guy”, but like I’ve said before, he just goes with whatever Mendes puts in front of him. I bet we haven’t even asked the question on someone like Potter, for example.
 
Lage is clearly considered to be a good coach. That doesn’t always mean good manager. Every ex-wolves players says Hoddle was the best coach by a margin but lacked man management skills.

So what is peoples reasons for hating Lage? A lack of managerial experience? I think that’s a pretty dreadful reason. On a par with saying “can Neves do it on a cold Tuesday in Hull” or “Nuno has no championship experience it won’t work”.

All the managers with “experience” none of you want!

What’s the other reason? A 10 game bad spell? Genuinely confused how everyone can be so clued up on this guy. On a par with people creaming themselves over Fabio Silva based on FM (there was no other info).

From the Percy story, Sellars is involved in the process. I know his job changed recently but didn't pay much attention but presume he is now stepping in the KT roles when it comes to the football side and Jeff is more about the business side, with his (Jorges) opinions thrown in. So it's not him going alone, as seemed to be the case last year.

I very much doubt Sellars knows a thing about Lage. They might but his name to the "process" but he won't have any real input.
 
I haven't seen any hate for lager. I've seen people being miffed that he's the only one in the frame when there's are so many more to choose from. And again it's Mendes connection, but it seems not a very good one.
Remember there's a 37 page thread here on who do we want, started off because we got rid of a decent manager because Fosun aren't happy with mid table.
Thrusting the first manager under Jeff's nose and signing him up isn't what i was hoping would happen. I was hoping for a process...
