****POLL NOW IN OP****Who do you want next?

I very much doubt Sellars knows a thing about Lage. They might but his name to the "process" but he won't have any real input.
No clue on that. So I will chuck out - if that's the case, Jeff has gone to him with the name and Sellars has done the old KT portfolio on him. He is having some sort of input if he is there when Lage is in town. Unless he can simply make a great cuppa or is a whizz at doing the minutes for meetings.

Maybe we have been looking at other managers for a while and not just since yesterday. As I said earlier we know nothing its all speculation.

From the Telegraph. If it's already been posted apologies.
"Nuno Espirito Santo’s four-year reign at Wolves has ended in a surprise move initiated by owners Fosun.

The Portuguese head coach will depart after Sunday’s game against Manchester United after Fosun moved to take action following a disappointing Premier League season.

Wolves’s statement revealed the decision to part company was mutual consent, but it is understood that Chinese ownership Fosun believed his exit was the way forward after months of friction behind the scenes.

Jeff Shi, the Wolves executive chairman, started discussions with Nuno over his future earlier this week before the announcement was made on Friday afternoon, shortly after the players were given the news at the training ground.

Wolves will finish the season in their lowest position since returning to the Premier League and Fosun have been frustrated by the poor performances and results.

There have also been disagreements over the transfer policy and even Nuno’s communication"

Thrusting the first manager under Jeff's nose and signing him up isn't what i was hoping would happen. I was hoping for a process...
Well if the sacking stuff is 100% true and they were truly close to doing it in January then there has been a process as at that point, Jorge and whoever would have been on red alert. You have no clue if its the 1st or 100th name put to the club.
That's just creating a scenario to match your disappointment in what's happened

How do you know there hasn’t been a process? So much supposition. I’m not exactly over the moon with Lage I’ve got to be honest but I’d hope that the club would always have a list of candidates they’d be interested in taking over the reins should anything happen. This has been coming, I seriously doubt Jorge picked the phone up Saturday morning and said “Alright Jeff, this bloke’s free, have him”. And I’d doubt even more that if that had happened Jeff would have said “Oh alright then”.

And since that shock story, journalists have been telling us it wasn't a shock and it was decided 2, 3, 4, 5 months ago.

I have as much clue as you do. I posted a bit out of todays piece in the Telegraph about the "mutual consent bit". Take it how you want. But Percy is supposedly pretty good on facts.

And if that list of candidates were all Mendes'? No wider search, no attempt to find the best fit, just the best fit he represents?

OK, not a shock. You knew about it then? When? Like every fucker came on here on Friday and didn't have a clue.

Well if Rafa is indeed one, we have gone outside of that Mendes net.

(Actually no clue who is agent is btw)

Well I’ll tackle those points then TT

Asst manager at Sheff Wed and Swansea under Carrvalo - Not sure how this is relevant to anything

Has a rep for bringing through young talent. Felix and Dias are generational though and when he lost the former he fell apart - Nuno lost Raul and we fell apart in the eyes of some (we were shit before then). Your statement also isn’t true, they sold him and won 18 out of 19.

We have some young players with potential, but nothing like that. - Why does it have to be? You saying he can only coach elite players?

He couldn't do anything to avoid that slide and had record breaking results- in a bad way for the biggest club in the country - it was 10 games! He only lost 4 of them!

He plays 442, try picking a team from our squad with that formation - literally means nothing. There more to football and tactics than 3 numbers. Burnley play 442 and are impotent yet defensively solid. It’s as bad as people saying “one up front is negative, I want two strikers Franksy”. And to my knowledge, Nuno had played a 4 everywhere before he joined.

He's an out of work Mendes client, makes us everything people have accused us of for the last 5 years - yeah I don’t like it. I’d rather not be Portugal FC, but we’ve made our bed and we’ve done alright out of it.

He's not young so not some thrusting superstar - not sure what difference age makes.

Fonseca won't come? That's an issue - especially if he goes to Palace - don’t get how it’s an issue, plenty of reasons why he wouldn’t want to come on non footballing grounds. Doesn’t look like he’s pulled up too many trees at Roma anyway (I’ve only looked at Wikipedia, don’t know ins and outs)

If the candidate list genuinely includes him, parking what I actually would think about that appointment then fair enough. Still say, he's not an interview kind of guy though, I don't think he could take the rejection.

Did I say I knew about it? Are you reading words not typed

When the story broke, like the one you quoted it was a shock move. Everyone taken by surprise.

OK...

Then the next day we got stories telling us the relationship had broken down months ago and how he was almost sacked after the Albion game.

So in less than 24 hours it went from a shock decision to yeah we knew about this ages ago from the journalists (spoiler alert - not me)

The process i have seen is 1/ Mendes client Lage favourite to be Wolves manager. 2/ a bookies list on the runners for the job. That is it.

Is Fonseca a Mendes client? (Again honestly don't know)

Stories of his rejection are as reliable as Rafa getting a cuppa made by Sellars

You missed the part off the almost sacked but kept on because they knew he could steady the ship. That was from an athletic piece. It was fractured, not broken down. Again from the press. It doesn't matter. Nuno is gone.
The appointment needs to be right or the Wolves world will be out for blood.

Why would the club release its process?

If you are going off what's been said, we have 3 or 4 names. Clearly Lage is the leading candidate in their eyes but others have been linked by the same people. So it's straight away not 1 name, ta muchly, on we go.

Not sure what all this stuff is about "the club should tell us what's going on", look at the top 6/7/8 clubs in the country.

Their boards never say anything at all publicly. I don't want a David Sullivan type telling me how he had a billion superb strikers lined up but the manager didn't want them.

It's funny as fuck, seriously...

Not actually pedigree is it?

No, but his positive on the Tugascout report posted earlier is he brought through young players - they have to be at the level required otherwise it's just noise. Fabio isn't unprepared for PL because of the manager
He couldn't do anything to avoid that slide and had record breaking results- in a bad way for the biggest club in the country - it was 10 games! He only lost 4 of them!
Which is extraordinary for Benfica

Not about the formation, it's about the players we have for that formation. Perhaps he'll deviate, perhaps we'll sign 4 players so we can play it

As said numerous times, we absolutely have, I can the off Ola John, not manager though
He's not young so not some thrusting superstar - not sure what difference age makes.
Well at the age and experience does make a difference, unless you think teams have been sleeping on him?

Someone said before he wants to stay in Italy, so I concede on that one
