****POLL NOW IN OP****Who do you want next?

I think it depends on what people want and expect, I would imagine that we are going to go with a Portuguese manager and backroom staff with a mixture of British coaches and Portuguese coaches, which I think is probably the best option to keep the lads happy.

As for playing style, one of the main reasons why people were miffed with Nuno is down to this seasons boring football, a massive change in style could see us struggle, however I think it's totally needed that we move away from pragmatism and start to play more expansive football, push Neves higher up the pitch, give Traore and Neto a free role, wingbacks bombing forward, using our pace on the counter, no f*cking short corners to nowhere.

Lage would give us an attacking brand of football for certain.

I would like AVB, Sampaoli, Jardim or even push the boat out for Mourinho.

It's pretty much guaranteed that we're getting Lage, so I will be behind him 100%, I think a lot of people are giving him stick based off of Wikipedia, which never paints the full picture.

Pedigree/profile isn't everything.

I'm told that about size, and it's not true there either!

Srsly tho, I know it's not everything, but it's a big help when it comes to retention and attraction of talent, getting fans and players on board early doors etc. We're in the position now where we can mitigate the risk of somebody being shite.

Obviously it might be that season one of Brono is the guy that he's going to be, with a supportive board - and that'd be happy days. But I doubt his CV would even be replied to if he applied for a vacancy at Everton/West Ham/Leicester, and the only reason he's seemingly in the frame is because of Mendes. Whether he's a Raul or a Jose, I don't know. But tbh I'd kind of hoped we'd recruit from the pool of the world, and not just Jorge's merry-go-round.

Rafa’s had solid pedigree and no one wants to touch him. Lage has won more in 18 months than Nuno has won ever.

Someone posted this on Reddit:

Bruno Lage record with Benfica:

* 71 Games
* 181 Goals for
* 75 Goals against
* Win ratio 67.11%

Nuno record with Porto:

* 49 Games
* 88 Goals for
* 28 Goals against
* Win ratio 55%

The difference in goals scored for and against really stands out. Whatever happens, if it is Lage, I don't think it'll be boring.

I keep thinking, when Nuno gets linked with another club, the fans of that club might say, the man's got no pedigree etc etc, he took a club up from their second division, had a couple of good seasons and was then diabolical for a year.

To be fair, if Nuno was at Porto or Benfica and they played anywhere near as bad as Wolves have at times this season, he would have been sacked ALOT sooner.

Nuno only ended up in the job because of Mendes and that worked out alright, I don't think there's a single Wolves' fan that would've picked him out 4 years ago. Now everyone is crying that he's gone, sometimes you just don't know what you're going to get.

Football management is weird, in good times or bad people like to heap praise or blame almost absolutely onto a manager to suit their point of view. We're seeing it now, everything good for the last 4 years was down to Nuno and no-one else so without him it's all sackcloth and ashes, relegation next seaon little more than a formality.

Maybe, crazy idea here, someone else can do the same job, maybe even someone that your average UK football fan doesn't instantly recognise as a big deal.

We were told that Nuno was rubbish when we were linked to him but it worked out not too badly...

Nuno wouldn't have looked at Wolves without Mendes, Wolves wouldn't look at Lage without him. Therin lies a chasm of a difference

There's no doubting some of numbers are exciting, and if the style transfers I'll be happy as a dog with two dicks. It's immature of me, but I guess I just wanted somebody that most people had heard of, and have a few 'blimey, that's a good appointment' conversations, rather than 'here we go, Mendes pulling the strings again' type shit

Don't know about crying. Lamenting is a better word. There's a reason for it. He was the best manager we've had in 40 years. So it's a bit tough to take when you get rid of him and potentially get a downgrade on him. None of know right now if Lager bloke will or will not be any good. I'm very skeptical about it.

You weren't a fan when he put Coady at the back. Believe you blamed him for the defeat at Shrewsbury and hoped the new guy would bin the crazy experiment .

Bet you also called Jonny shit after he spannered that cross into the crowd at Derby as well

I doubt anyone was creaming their pants over Nuno before he came to Wolves, I'd certainly never heard of him, nor are Wolves the massive draw some seem to think just because of a couple of decent league finishes.

Seems to be a fair bit of entitlement knocking about the last few days. Tables have really turned, with the relegation fears too.

So has Roberto Di Matteo so let's appoint him
Wasn’t making a pro anyone, just highlighting a lot of people are talking a lot of shit.

I’m just not going to jump on a bandwagon about a guy the majority knew anything about but the easy route is to just say they don’t want him based on a look at Wikipedia.

Gerrard had no background, he’s done OK at Rangers. What had Pep achieved before making Barcelona one of the best teams ever, yet people were still calling him a fraud in 2017!

We've caught it from Fosun. Mid table in the PL is not where we should be apparently.

Majority, myself included, it was more a case of Valencia and Porto on the CV and put a small club into Europe. That felt like a moment we were suddenly going somewhere. Based on nothing more than that CV to start off.
Right now, I think a lot want that kind of feeling again but we are hoping for a name the top 6 would attract.
Also a lot don't want to be having to decide on a new manager because the last one is much loved.

If he's appointed It's nothing to do with entitlement and everything to do with the club just accepting whatever manager Mendes tells them they should. That's not the club I want Wolves to be
