****POLL NOW IN OP****Who do you want next?

I wouldn't pay any attention to the betting, it's a ridiculous, volatile market.
Fat Sam is a "big" name... 😁

I had forgotten about Jardim, actually. That Monaco team he had was hugely talented (Falcao, Mbappe, Lemar, Bernardo Silva, Mendy, Moutinho) and pretty attacking. Turned over Man City, pretty sure those games ended up convincing Guardiola to sign Bernardo.

That doesn't make sense though, why would they offer it to Lage if bigger names have shown an interest?
I was speculating that the big name stuff was a smokescreen for the media and that there weren't actually any.

Tim Spiers knows shit. I imagine the deal is already done. Fosun aren’t going to have told him he’s leaving 5 days ago yet not have something wrapped up. Particularly if they’ve been considering this decision for a while.

There's a poster on The Mix who was insistent back on April 30th that he had heard Nuno was leaving this summer. It's been in the works for some time for sure.

Gives more credence to that journo saying Lage is already agreed.

As I said earlier I wouldn't be surprised if a few coaches fancied it though. I remember when we approached Lopetegui and he said he was sold on the drive and desire of the project and what Fosun wanted to build, the fact they would provide funds and so on. That was back in 2016.

That the backroom staff have also been let go, despite apparently being happy to stay tells me that Nuno doesn't have another job lined up, but that Fosun do have another manager all but sorted.

Well yeah. You only have to be vaguely competent IMO to keep this squad away from danger even before considering transfer business. That’s why I find the talk of us potentially getting relegated a bit silly.

You're never "too good to go down" but we still somehow managed to finish 13th without our top goalscorer for the past two seasons. There isn't much danger of this squad going down.

No of course not. But I think TC keeps us up! He was playing some good stuff with a broken squad full of awful players.

It's pretty funny to think about how emotional people have gotten about this season being a step backward. I think re-watching TC's conference after City relegated us can really put things into perspective. The club was completely shattered, inside and out, and it was written all over TC's face and voice.

We're so far removed from that that it makes some of the negativity now seem downright silly.

Just looked at the odds. John Terry 12/1 ffs... What a fucking disaster that would be.
Odds tumbled after one man put some big money on him, must have some inside info

Correct. What we've actually been left with is very, very solid foundations, a project heading in the right direction with young players who will only get better.

Naturally there will be player exits as there always are, but I think we will retain most if not all of the "talent" we have, and a fresh manager with new ideas and his own guard to come in may be the tonic this squad needs.

I'm less convinced about the second point. I'm on the fence, really, but I wouldn't be shocked to see any/all of the following leave or be sold:
  • Troare
  • Saiss
  • Boly
  • Neves
  • Moutinho
  • Podence
  • Dendoncker
  • Patricio
Basically, any first team player who had a good relationship with Nuno. Again, not saying I think this will happen, just wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of an exodus.

There's only Neves out of that lot I'd be particularly bothered about losing tbf

I think that is who will go in the close season. Traore and Neves have to stay if we plan on being more than mid table fodder.

Where will they go though? Nuno doesn't have a club
