O'Neil In, Out and Shaking it all about

We haven't been hard to beat with a 4 or a 5 in a considerable time now hence the 8 defeats in our final 13 last season too.

Going as far back as Man United at home they could have been about 5-0 up at half time.

Having five at the back does nothing to stop Chris Wood, Pinnock or others scoring free headers. It doesn't prevent Harvey Barnes been given the freedom of Molineux to pick his spot etc
Shelving the ridiculous zonal marking and not playing attacking full backs in a back four would have probably helped though. Even if it was just 2 or 3 more points, things would look much better than the current situation.

Perhaps then, we could be a little more adventurous v the "weaker" teams coming up and revert to a back four - had that paid dividends v Brentford (a weaker team) of course it didn't though and here we are.

Wankers arguing on the internet, but some wankers' arguments aren't just hypothetical, they're based on actual past events.

Had we had a few 0 0's this season we could play with a bit more freedom that what we now can.

You've planted your flag. You believe going four at the back was the right decision in our opening 7 fixtures. Results though, suggest otherwise...

You carry on living in denial though.
We've not had a clean sheet for 20 league games. We played 5 at the back for the bulk of them. The goals we concede aren't related to how many defenders we play today's been a prime example. We concede through a combination of not being defensively sound enough, individual mistakes and players just not being good enough

So obvious solution is to play with fewer defenders and outscore the opposition. We're fucking 1970 Brazil all of a sudden. Fucking hell.

The point is more defenders ≠ less goals.
The point is concede three, barring a miracle you lose.

Why is this so hard to comprehend?

Since promotion with Nuno, only once have we scored more goals after 8 games! Yet we've infinitely fewer points than in any previous season since promotion.

Trying to out-attack the opposition isn't working. Some tactical nous is required and a horses for courses approach would clearly be beneficial.

I don’t see your point at all. We’ve played 3 at the back under GON and conceded shit loads. We’ve played 4 at the back under GON and conceded shit loads. There is only one common theme here.

Today is probably the worst case scenario if you want GON to be moved on. We lost so no points, however we put in a good show and lost late in very controversial circumstances.
Regardless off the end result today GON has probably bought himself a bit of time on the basis of a good effort.

Also said our owners were "just fine".

No-one wants us to lose so they're proven right FFS. In fact today is miles down the list of failings on the part of Gary O'Neil since March, to the point I'm not sure I even blame him (apart from bringing on Guedes).
Fuck off DW, we both know guys on here want to be proven right, rather than lose face .
The owners presenly are doing ok, if we go down they will have loae any respect, but outside the top 6 no bad
