32 is old?
As is 31 apparently!
32 is old?
HahahahahahaahahaYour bet was. Especially considering the current state of the economy.
It was disgustingly vulgar. This is no surprise to me
Too much beak for you today.
Onto ignore you go.
Not justifying any pearl clutching. Can you quote some OTT personal comments for me? A few people saying he's shite, which is daily par for the course with shorthand dismissiveness re: players and managers on most football forums.
Don't recall seeing anything so personal and out of order that it justifies the smattering of pearl clutching that's being indulged in
I would have preferred Lampard, and I can’t stand him!Not justifying any pearl clutching.
He's been compared to Nathan Jones, folks have gone out of their way to wish he fails or not welcome him, he's been called a "yes man", "completely unqualified", a "joke appointment", "fuck off and resign", etc etc. Even Hobbs' boilerplate "wow I'm excited about the guy I just hired, imagine that" statement got pelted.
People are upset, understandably, but the way O'Neil has been immediately dismissed is well OTT, IMV. This is the sort of reaction I'd have expected if we'd gone with Lampard.
This is what he should be judged on tbf. It's just social media. He'll get support in the ground at least for the start of the season. Things can and probably will change, but at the moment there's not a home game we are likely favourites for until December. The events of the last 24 hours haven't changed that, the reaction to the results if they play out that way will though
It’s the sort of reaction anyone would get if they landed a job for which they were massively unqualified or inexperiencedNot justifying any pearl clutching.

I love you Louie, but... I think I have to sit in the opposite stand from you at Molineux after this.I would have preferred Lampard, and I can’t stand him!

Those English/Welsh/Aussie hybrids have a strange sense of humour tbh'Welcome Doormat' is one that stuck out. I did chuckle at that one.
I know he didn't play stellar football but dismissing last season completely out of hand like this feels so harsh to me.It’s the sort of reaction anyone would get if they landed a job they were massively unqualified or inexperienced
Dawson - Jonny - Doherty - KilmanI haven't checked the validity of this, but I saw some Bournemouth fans criticising he was too quick to put CBs at the fullback positions, at least he can't do that here if it is true, as we currently don't have enough CBs.
Quick look at their fullbacks tells me Ryan Fredericks is their best one on either side... He's okay but hardly a name I'd think you'd want written in pen on the team sheet.I haven't checked the validity of this, but I saw some Bournemouth fans criticising he was too quick to put CBs at the fullback positions, at least he can't do that here if it is true, as we currently don't have enough CBs.
Don't you think it feels very Bruno Lage though Alan, in terms of wanting a manager who can be manipulated. I take your point re OTT comments, but a lot of people on here are being charged £650 and more and are supposed to be accepting of this. It's not against Gary O'Neil the person it's about what he representsNot justifying any pearl clutching.

What’s the bar? Well some evidence that they can get the team to play a reasonable standard of football, preferably at more than one club as we saw with Lage a stopped clock is correct twice a day. GO had Bournemouth battling and riding their luck - look at the stats - his season was the equivalent of Sa in the first half of his first season. Throw in the most vomit-inducing time wasting and I can’t see how anyone is pleased by his appointment. Now he’s got a chance he never should have got we can only hope he grasps it but there’s precious little evidence to give any optimism.I know he didn't play stellar football but dismissing last season completely out of hand like this feels so harsh to me.
What's the bar? What makes a manager "qualified" to coach at Wolves? I think it's clear that the goal for the coming season is to stay up and regroup afterward (I grant that some here will feel that Fosun have no intention of turning the taps back on in a year's time). I think O'Neil can probably manage that with a better group of players than he managed it with last season.
I'm not reading a whole lot into the length of his contract as I do imagine he's not on a ton relative to other Prem managers and that we can get rid swiftly and cheaply if the need arises.
What happens if GO'N fails is a completely separate matter and would be nothing short of a disaster. There's no doubt that Fosun are taking an incredible risk if their strategy is what I read it to be.
