O'Neil aka GONe

I understand why people are saying it would be a hell of an achievement to get us out of this, I witnessed last night too.

However, trying to look at it objectively we are **only** 3 points (plus GD) from safety.

We have some really good attacking players.

Being more organised and lead better defensively would have a significant impact on us, and it's not even difficult to address a lot of those issues.

If we brought in Moyes, Potter or even Cooper within the next 7 days I'm sure we'd stay up.

Needless to say, the longer we leave it the less likely that is.

We joke, but I bet anyone who posts on this forum could genuinely have been put in charge this season, and would probably have got the same number of points as Gary has, just through sheer luck/having good players available. He’s actively made our good players collectively worse.

There's genuinely not a doubt in my mind that if I was in charge we'd be 5-6 points clear of relegation by now. If I was in charge of transfers , top ten. I know in a way it sounds laughable but how hard can it be ffs

a point a game from here on in keeps you up, any manger that thinks that's unlikely needs to retire.

You would have us paying £2000 a season to watch us play at West Park. Get in the sea lad...

Thing is, I am being properly serious. Obviously I'd need some quality coaches to help my visions come to life on the training pitch, but I trust Louie could step in. I'll be director of football and match day manager, YW in charge of the tracksuit stuff. Piece of piss.

I think Moyes, Potter and others would take us on but they'll have conditions and won't be yes men, plus sacking GON with a big pay off would be a reflection of the overall club mismanagement - long contract, a strategy that has weakened the squad and weird transfers. Can their egos take it?

Potter first choice then Moyes but both unlikely to take any offer as not keen on the club's 'self-sustainable' model

Hooray

They'll want money and guarantees that it's a good job with a future, rather than the reality of it being "finish 17th and spend as little as possible, losing your best player every Summer and not moaning"

So LL basically saying Potter & Moyes (the top two choices) wouldn’t touch us with a bargepole. Understandable. Potter was also available when we employed Gary O’Neil, so why on earth would he come here now?!

It’ll be someone from a lower league, or maybe Scotland. Maybe a mid-Portuguese or Brazilian manager, but I can guarantee right now there’s no way Jeff or Hobbs will have spoken to anyone from there yet.

As well as someone with a bare modicum of defensive organisational ability, I feel we'd also need someone who can give the players a boost, an authoritative and stabilising figure (I think even Lop did this initially).

We seem quite mentally weak as a squad

Tend to agree - just get the fuckers organised and make them know what their jobs are. Because no fucking way did the vast majority of our players last night have a scooby what they were supposed to do.

Coupled with some of them not wanting to do what they thought they ought to be doing, it needs someone to come in and organise them, bollock those who aren't pulling their weight and do some fucking basics (marking on set pieces would be a start).

I'd bloody love an uneventful, organised 1-0 win which is something I don't think we're able to get with the current coaching setup.

He’s got to go, or I’m being forced to will my team to get thumped on Monday night. I know I wanted it last night too, but I’d be at West Ham fanatic levels by Monday. Surely they’d be inviting a situation whereby away fans have to literally cheer an opposition goal and be despondent if we score. He goes there and gets any kind of result and it’s a disaster.
