O'Neil aka GONe

So we do a "Fulham" and get something at West Ham - does that wipe the slate clean and we carry on sleepwalking towards relegation? It's one thing getting relegated but another thing altogether just accepting it in December. There is literally nothing to suggest GO can get us out of the mess and anyone thinking otherwise is a moron.

Absolutely no rush, Jeff. Enjoy your Christmas.

If he’s still here at lunchtime it’s clear relegation doesn’t bother Fosun and that can only because they have an alternative plan which will be to asset strip and get what they can for the shell of a club that remains.
I wouldn't even credit them with having a plan. I think they just don't care, written off as a sunk cost.

My version of events based on knowing how phenomenally stupid Shi is:

- We hesitate on sacking Gaz afterall he's had a really tough start ()

- We beat Brentford before the international break

- We hesitate again as it's Man City and Brighton and the bookies have us as outsiders and it's not often those boys get it wrong.

- We finally pull the trigger when we fail to pick up sufficient points from Palace, Southampton, Bournemouth, Fulham and Everton

- We make an approach for Rob Edwards. Shi offers 20% less than the stated compensation. Luton say no, we offer 15% less they say no etc etc.

- Edwards pulls the plug on it as it's December and a super busy time of the fixture list he needs to focus on Luton.

- We get a manager/husk in via Gestifute.

- Their first game is Leicester on Dec 21st before Man United, Tottenham, Newcastle , Chelsea Arsenal, Villa and Liverpool form 6 of their first 8 fixtures.

I mean, this was September when my glass was particularly half empty and we appear to be giving O'Neil even more time than that.

Spectacularly. Stupid. Football. Club.

We have to be the only club in professional football that would allow such an incompetent failing from the manager in charge and still not get rid. 4 goals conceded back to back against Bournemouth and Everton. Fucking EVERTON. That’s not even taking a glance at the previous 25 odd games leading back to last season.

The ONLY reason they haven’t sacked him is because they’re clueless as to how to replace him. They had “tentative chats” a few weeks back & the likes of Potter probably laughed in Shi’s face - so now they’re boxed in to a corner and have nowhere to go. Just like we’re boxed in to the bottom three.

There are literally NO redeeming factors about our performances, set up or tactics. I’d sort of get it if there was something… anything! But there isn’t. They know it, we know it - Gary himself knows it. Once you lose the away support, there’s no coming back. So what the fucking hell are they waiting for? Honestly, I think I’d rather have Collins in charge for Monday at this point.

I'd rather have anyone but GO in charge. Collins, Dawson as senior pro, Deutsch, you, literally anyone.

Does it really matter at this stage anyway .

It will take a fantastic recovery to pull us out of this hole - even if we appoint a New Manager today .

We need to get above the likes of Leicester , Everton and possibly others . You would have to think that Palace are going to climb up the table too .

I want O'Neil to be replaced immediately , no different to anyone else , but it's a job with will not attract a good name right now , maybe not even Moyes .
Would Moyes want his name associated with a relegation for instance at this stage in his career . Perhaps I'm misjudging the man completely , I don't know .

Jeff and Matt probably had a cosy international break and sat admiring there own fancy work after the Fulham win.
Now these 2 results have hit them like a train and they’re lost as what to do.
Better changing now as opposed to doing it with just 5 days to prepare for Ipswich.

The fact it’s away on Monday probably has saved him if it was at home the board probably wouldn’t want to stomach a toxic Molineux

Wooooah. I know you are angry but come on!!
We joke, but I bet anyone who posts on this forum could genuinely have been put in charge this season, and would probably have got the same number of points as Gary has, just through sheer luck/having good players available. He’s actively made our good players collectively worse.

They know that the only way to get out of this relegation trajectory is to do a Lop mkII and fork out for a manager and undoubtedly a couple of players in January, and that obviously runs counter to the path they set us on, with a cheap patsy and regular player sales/downgrades. So they won't do that.

My bet is that they haven't got a clue what to do now and are just trying to fend off reality for as long as possible. We're done, I reckon

C`mon Gazz, fall on your sword. Have some pride man.
