Non League Football.

Fair to say they did that

I think that Forest Green Rovers did not help themselves. The first half they were very good but came out after the interval and invited Lincoln City onto them, and that is what happened.

Next up for Lincoln is Sutton United away on Tuesday.

Lincoln and Tranmere both won yesterday, so it is neck and neck at the top. Forest Green lost so it is now a two horse race for automatic promotion.

A big game tonight. Lincoln City v Dagenham and Redbridge. A win for the Imps is vital as five of Tranmeres last seven games are at home.

Lincoln and Tranmere both win again. Lincoln have a game in hand, but Tranmere scored 7 today to narrow the goal difference.

Lincoln City beat Chester 1 -0, while Tranmere lost 1 - 0 at home to Forest Green Rovers. 10 points from their remaining five games guarantees Lincolns return to the football league.

So the scenario is quite simple. If Lincoln win tomorrow, and Tranmere fail to win then the Imps will be back in the football league.

Meanwhile things are very tight in the fight for play off places in the Northern Premier League, with Stourbridge still in the play off positions, but must be looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack.

I went to Stourbridge yesterday v relegation threatened Frickley Athletic - after a shaky start that saw them go a goal down after a defensive mix up, they equalised immediately to make it 1-1 at half time. The 2nd half was all Stourbridge and it ended up 4-1 (though I did see THE worst penalty ever by Frickley when it was 3-1 - sliced it about 5 yards wide).

Injuries have been a real problem for Stourbridge though - its a makeshift back 4 that never looked convinving. I'm not sure about details of the injuries but hopefully they can get players back quickly and secure their play off spot. Going forward they looked good and Luke Benbow is the leagues top scorer with 25+ this season - scored a cracker for the equaliser.

Looking at the table, one more win should guarantee Stourbridge a play off place, particularly given their superior goal difference over their rivals.

Yeah just looked myself - the last game is at home to fellow play off contenders Nantwich next weekend. Lots at stake if they don't get a result on Monday.

And Benbow's goal yesterday was his 30th league goal of the season. Impressive!

30 goals at any level is impressive. Will he be staying with Stourbridge, or is that dependant on them gaining promotion?

Darlington have had a resurgence of late after dropping out of the play off spots and now look like clinching a chance of a return to the National League. Partway through this season they returned to Darlington and play at Darlington Rugby Club after installing a temporary stand to get the ground "to standard" for the National League North with planning permission to transfer the 600 seat stand at their old ground in Bishop Auckland to Blackwell Meadows. Unfortunately the rules for the play offs state that a club must have a permanent, covered 500 seat stand in place to participate in the play offs by 31st March 2017, the old rules had stated that a temporary stand was fine as long as the club could prove they had planning permission to build a covered seated stand.

As things stand Darlington FC will not be permitted to play in the play offs and the next highest placed team will get their spot. They are appealing to the league and are liaising with Poole Town FC who are in a similar situation.

I wish Darlington well. The club has clearly made a great effort to give football back to the town. But whether they win their appeal is another matter.

No idea TBH - this is his 2nd spell so he clearly likes it here. He's lethal when he's got the ball and has scored a few superb free kicks but his work rate when things aren't going his way is a bit questionable. He gets very frustrated very quickly!!

He didn't make it at Hednesford at Conference North level, although in fairness he didn't last much longer than pre season.

And Woking get 2 wins in a row (though only just as they scored twice in injury time to win today) - may be just enough to keep them in the National league for next season
