New - The things that really annoy you

Mix the two and you pretty much get a Marie Rose style sauce, which works on fish finger butty and also on a burger, especially with finely chopped gherkin mixed into it.

(Sits back and waits for the outrage)...
Add American mustard, some of the pickle juice and a pinch of seasoning and paprika and you’ve got the perfect burger sauce.

Got to be mayo surely.
Not mutually exclusive, I’d say. Always did mayo and ketchup together in my burgers.

Ketchup is good on fries (chips), IMO, though it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Minted peas are a thing, I could see that.

Not sure tomato peas are going to catch on.

Wait til y’all hear about pineapple salad…

Especially squeezy cheesy peas.

Good for your teas I believe

As much as I agree that it’s worth tasting your meal before adding extra seasoning, the idea that doing as such would personally insult the chef is bonkers.

No recipe will be universal to all taste buds. Amazingly, people who can afford a meal cooked by someone else probably know their taste preferences pretty well. It’s their own tongue, after all. Properly trained chefs should understand this.
But would you know you needed to add seasoning to your taste if you hadn’t tasted it first? Could already be perfect and then you ruin it by adding more.

It just doesn’t make sense to automatically throw salt and pepper on first, that just seems daft.

That’s their own problem, it should mean fuck all to the chef. Are they paying you for the meal or not?

I get being disappointed with the customer if they do that but to frame it as disrespectful seems totally wild to me.

I know I have some weird food combos, but ketchup on peas FFS.
