New - The things that really annoy you

Personally I don't add kidney beans as I'm not keen but baked beans? Get out of town.

All of her recipes are atrocious.

Yeah I meant kidney beans. I had no idea she put baked beans in it. Vom.

Tbh back in the day when there were 5 of us and money was tight we used to put baked beans in loads of stuff, chilli, bolognese, cottage pie, allsorts. It didn't add anything apart from extra volume but it was fine. Obviously we don't do it anymore cos wim rich now and only 2 of us.

But I bet you never washed the sauce off the beans?

Baked beans in, or with, cottage pie is ace. Makes a great lunch if there's a bit of pie left over.

I think I've had baked beans in a cheese and potato filling topped with mash, which was a bit simple but OK.

I’ve got no problem with people putting baked beans in meals. As Alan said, they’re great!

Sure, baked beans are baked beans. Let us not forget the point she was fucking washing the sauce off them...

Makes sense given she's aiming mostly at people with restricted resources, given that, according to the Tesco website:

420 g tin baked beans 50p
400 g tin haricot beans in water (i.e. baked beans with the sauce washed off) 70p

I'd definitely make a veggie chilli using haricot beans, not sure I would base the recipe on a beef dish minus the beef though.

The King can't abide him either which is a bit unfortunate when you're a Royal Correspondent

The only reason she might be washing the sauce off the beans that I can think of is because they're cheap shitty beans, the sauce will be full of sugar, but there goes all the taste. You can easily buy reduced sugar beans.
Bit like fully skimmed milk, no fat , no taste, it's just cloudy water. Can't see the point.
