New - The things that really annoy you

Customers hosting a meeting that starts at lunch time and runs for 3 hours and put no food on.

Fuming....and starving

If they had come to our office we would have put on a reet spread for them...but no, this Hull lot that produce food..its water or nowt lad.

Hulls always been weird with their land of green ginger ( actual street name) and their white telephone boxes

Being fed the same “we’re well positioned for the future now” line after every single round of layoffs. Bitch, I stopped believing that shit 8 layoffs ago

They all love trying their Cloughy impression.

Is he telling that because he heard the story going around the club or trying to tell it as if he was there?

I've not listened to anything but that clip, but he's telling it like his own from that.

I wouldn’t expect for a moment Alan falls into this category.
Having to watch Americans eat, are they never taught the concept of a knife for fucks sake.
Fork in right hand, mix everything together, shovel in gob.

Highly amusing when they have to actually cut something up though 😆

I genuinely have never noticed this. Maybe because we’re the land of the casserole?

Most Southern families I’ve known still take “family dinner” pretty seriously. No elbows, big todo about saying grace, proper cutlery… or maybe I just grew up around high falutin Southerners.

Apologies, see a couple of slobs and it becomes stereotypical.

I don't know if it's living in the US, getting old, or not eating meat, but nowadays I very rarely use a knife.
Usually just a fork, sometimes just a spoon, occasionally both.

I can recall quite a bit of ridicule of Americans not being able to use a knife ‘properly’, but a mate of mine who’d been to private school in the U.K. once told me they were taught the same method - that the knife is for cutting, and once you’d cut, you put it down and effectively ate one handed, scooping with the fork.

Even the ‘standard’ two-handed European method is a bit muddled, with the ‘nicer’ method being the food is pushed onto the back of the fork (always seemed a bit odd why you’d use a fork inefficiently to me) whereas the more agricultural method being the fork turned the other way and used as a shovel.

Tbh, irrespective of the rights and wrongs of those options, I think the biggest problem we’ve got is kids who can barely use a knife and fork and just default to their fingers. Don’t know if that’s the fast-food/McDonalds thing playing out but watching kids with a knife and fork either side of their plate instinctively grabbing a greasy chip with their hands is one of those things that really bugs me.

not so much annoying as fucking angry,
I got properly ghosted on a job this morning, applied for a bike mechanic job, fairly local bike shop that involved a train there and back but would be doable daily, they’d seen my qualifications when I sent my cv, we’d had a phone chat that seemed to go ok, they asked me to go in for a practical test which all bike shops do, this is usually build a bike or check a bike over and tell me the faults you find or what you think need’s repairing.
Anyway got the train out there, got to the bike shop, it’s closed! Phoned the contact numbers no answer, left messages, nothing went off for a cup of tea to calm down, trying ringing again nothing.
I’m back home now, and waiting to see if they call back if they do and it’s a good excuse like they’re dead I’ll be fine and let them off and reschedule

Thought that was just me, seems to have gone from hardly any to 5 or 6 A-day for me.
I realise thats probably chicken feed for most but its all relative.
After spending a few days flagging everything as phishing it seems (for now) to have reverted to normal.
