New - The things that really annoy you

Fooking bikes!!!

Ordered some 700 x 32c tyres for my other bike, as the ones I have are knackered and I want slicks. Had one 700 x 32c and one 700 x 23c delivered. They are like rocking horse poo if you don't want to pay a fortune, ffs.
Didn't realise tyres were so hard to get at the moment. What did you go for?

Jesus Christ having a nightmare with EasyJet.

Wife in Barcelona, was supposed to be picking her up at Gatwick approx11.00pm this evening. Flight repeatedly delayed, eventually
departs Barcelona 20 mins ago (approx 22.45 Uk time) and the fucking thing has been diverted to Bristol!!!

Naturally can’t get hold of her so no idea if they’ll sort a taxi or whatever. Don’t know what to do. She’s supposed to be at work at 8.00am tomorrow.

Bloody hell.

No explanation either.

Usually stick them on coaches and bus them to the original arrival airport

Due to land in about 15 minutes so guess will find out shortly. Can’t fathom it as other flights still arriving at Gatwick and there’s no bad weather etc.

Having an absolute nightmare with flights recently, it’s making you wonder if it’s worth it.

I’ve not used easyJet since they pissed about on a Prague to East Midlands flight, were due to leave Prague when they had a “technical” problem and delayed the flight, as they’d done with all the other east mids flights due to leave.
My mate who was fluent in Czech overheard airport staff saying the easyJet flights weren’t going at all, he asked and was told just get a flight of them to anywhere in the uk, so we did, to Gatwick, phoned my boss who got us 3 free tickets on the national express coach back to East Midlands ( perks of working for them).
Found out easyJet had actually finished flights from East Midlands airport 6 weeks before they were supposed to

Easy Jet are the first airline to divert in bad weather. Another good reason to avoid them like the plague.

Was to do with weather apparently but doesn’t make a whole lot of sense as other flights landed at Gatwick at a similar time and you never feel you can trust EJ so will probably never know the truth. Anyway, she was in no mood to hang about and argue over options at that time of the morning so jumped in a taxi and got home knackered 2.5 hours later. Dunno how but still made it to work at 8.00am so fair play for that one.

Everything just seems so unreliable the moment. Not sure whether to live in hope things get better or start to adjust expectations. I’m beginning to lean to the latter.

We mulled over a trip to Germany this summer and decided against, who wants a load of hassle when you go on holiday?

Had no hassle on my trip earlier this year.
Wife is off to Prague tomorrow, see how she gets on

Son went to Berlin in August and that was straight forward as well

We had zero problems on our 2 week Fench trip recently.
We did go by ferry though rather than fly

Was only EasyJet that we’ve had the actual flight issues with, the other airlines have been fine. Passport control has been a breeze although baggage handling has been a problem at times.

Does seem you either have no problems or big problems, with little in between. Pays your money and takes your chance I guess.

I would've thought it was the pilot's call if it's the weather?

I suppose that's the point, for 20+ years I'd go abroad and it was a 1% chance of something going horribly wrong. It's probably nearer 30% now and I don't want to take that chance even if on balance, it'll probably be fine. Because it's a lot of money and there's only so much free time you have over a year.

Went to Germany in June - absolutely no problems at all. Got through security at Birmingham in less than 2 minutes. Spent more time queuing to get a table for a breakfast beer.

Flew to Dubrovnik last month with EasyJet and was actually pleasantly surprised by the service. Again - absolutely zero issues.

I've got bipolar, she's got anxiety. Mate, we ain't going anywhere at the moment :D

Actually that can be a separate matter, my health. Bipolar flare up a couple of weeks ago which has really fucked me up and over the last year or so I've developed this:

Which is fucking brilliant, and I got an attack of that this week.

Dig a fucking hole, I'll climb in it and go. This is shit.

I guess so, he/she must have the final say so on that one.

Reminds me of something that happened 4 years ago that you wouldn’t want to repeat again. Travelling back from Bodrum on a night flight and most people are asleep, the call goes out “Is there a doctor on board?”.

There‘s a lady that’s a diabetic and her pen-thing is in a bag in the hold. Her and her partner have fallen asleep, he’s woken up to find her in a bad way the call goes out. The wife is the only medic on board and goes to help. Uses what limited equipment they’ve got but the lady is slipping in and out of consciousness. She’s asked if we need to land the pilot is ready and waiting for the instruction. As soon as the decision is made the plane descends very rapidly and lands at Cologne.

Someone said in those circumstances the plane lands on a ‘mayday’ which I’m not sure is accurate or not, but it certainly had a much faster angle of descent than normal and as soon as it hit the runway it stopped without taxiing and the emergency services got straight on.

The lady was treated onboard for a while before being taken off on one of those evacuation chair things and as far as anyone is aware made a full recovery. The passengers were offered water while plans were made for the next leg of the journey although the Mrs was offered a cup of tea!

First time anyone‘s ever got anything for free out of EasyJet!

EasyJet always used to be first affected by fog as their ILS was of the minimum required standard.
