You haven't missed anything but it has been known that players have been 'injured' for a variety of reasons.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if Raul was sick to the back teeth of the whole coaching set up and could see nothing was going to change with the current wankers in charge.

That's

I get that. But I’d like to think Raul has just absconded - like to think he has more about him than that.

Il be cautiously optimistic due to the fact we’ve basically been here before. Fingers crossed it’s finally a goer. Not too sure what’s changed to much in a couple of weeks mind
Raul flew into Heathrow Saturday evening, so you would imagine at the latest that this time last week arrangements were being made for him to return, so don't think it would be tied into J Lo being appointed.

Lopetegui or not, we're very likely to be at <1PPG at 18 games.

Tough ask for anyone, we threw this season in the bin in advance by keeping that utter wanker Lage.

Yeah somehow need to shithouse a win against Brighton, but they seem to have just started scoring under Di Zerbi....

I’d assumed something was going on with Raul mentally. Likely head injury related. The fact we had a total helmet in charge probably didn’t help. My take.

All very true , but our task at this point is to ensure that at the end of the season we are ahead in the table of at least 3 other teams . We're not trying to come 4th . It's not impossible , it's quite doable with an experienced Manager in charge and the change in attitude among the squad that this will bring .

I wonder if this was the plan all along, that we'd wait until JL was available, and if so, what did we actually offer Beale?

Did we offer Beale the manager role or something else?

I think when Lop turned us down they had a bit of a panic attack and looked at alternatives. I’ve no doubt they wanted Beale as manager - there’s no way he would have come for any other role after he’d finally become he main man at QPR.

I’m confident that the role offered to Beale and the one we would have to offer Lopetegui in order to get him to finally accept will be very different in terms of overall control of the football side of things.

If JL is appointed Sellars and the stats gonks are going to find themselves marginalised at best and gone in other scenarios.

If we didn't offer Beale the job he has spent a fair amount of time chatting bubbles about a role he wasn't getting.

I would say that when JL turned us down it was a "not yet" rather than a no, never.
We then looked at carrying on the set up where Scott and the statto's are king but no fucker wanted that shit so we gambled.
No chance JL comes in and his actions dictated by anyone.
Think we may see a change in Scott's role or a departure if JL finally says yes.

I think that Lopetegui was offered the job and he declined it as (what was reported at the time) he wanted a break from the game. We wanted someone sooner so moved on but as we've found nobody, Lopetegui has been back in touch stating that he's had his break and ready to return to management.

The semantics around transfer budgets and control over signings are probably less of a factor, although I'm sure he had his say at the time of how he'd like to manage the club.

Absolutely, they’ve tried to get someone in on their original terms and failed. Finally they’ve woken up and smelled the coffee and realised if you want a top manager you have to give them far more control.

Good to have some positive developments after a couple of miserable weeks, but there's still plenty of scope for Shit Midas Shi to fuck it all up. Let's hope he just says nothing and nods his head at whatever JL says/wants

It's a rapid change in approach if we're going from an approach where Beale had to fit into our structure to an approach where JL seemingly has carte blanche.

I don't think it's a bad thing because our current approach doesn't work, it just seems to be a rapid change.

I'm not sure there's any concrete evidence of this though? Just a few people joining the dots and talking about improved terms.

If it is rapid change I'd assume it's come from above Jeff?

Yeah, I forgot to caveat it with "if the rumours are true".

Looming relegation can focus minds!

I understand keeping a setup around a 'head coach' as then you don't have to start all over again when they leave, but anyone can see it isn't working.

JL - I will come if I can have complete control
Wolves - no
JL - fair enough, I will get plenty of other offers
Wolves - Beale, do you want the job. You can listen to Scott and the gonks.
MB - err no cheers. I’m happy in control at QPR
Wolves - let’s wait till Christmas

Some fruitless football later

JL - changed your mind about that control point yet?
Wolves - errrrr….
