I'm fully aware that he has only worked in Portugal - that was my point - it wasn't meant to be a question . Instead I was pointing out that , would we not prefer someone with a more wide range of experience in more than one league , such as Emery as one example .
Amorim no doubt is well regarded - but in a league which is below the Premier League level .
I am merely pointing out a concern , which is what this forum is about .
We have a hugely talented squad , who we want to retain in the main......if you had the choice , would you hand it over to Emery ( who is proven I think ) or someone who has less experience .

That's my point - hopefully worded better this time .
I find it strange that the man you use as the example of working in different countries and is proven failed in this one.

Emery was hardly a roaring success at Arsenal. Sacked after going 7 without a win, the season after a capitulation that saw them get 4 points from 5 games and miss out on champions League qualification.

Not that I'm against him, just that any managerial appointment has risks.

Pretty much what Dan was going with on his explanation I would say. First team split up on the coaching drills and he was out of the main part of it
Who knows, it's such a short statement that it's hard to really draw any conclusions but personally, it seems to me like he wasn't in the "main" group anymore.

The rest of Coady's departure has had the message really well managed, until Coady's sister tweeted what she did which clearly implies something wasn't right.

Emery.......proven or unproven.......it's an opinion that's all .

Listen - we have a fine squad , we need to hand it over to the best possible person . They all come with a risk % , some might not want to come near us , which leaves us with a smaller pool .

Who would your choice be ?

Steve Cooper has 11 months left on his contract at Forest. I'd look to see how happy he is about that and working with their crackpot owner and son

Whilst I shouldn't let this put me off, Steve Cooper always looks like he has about a week of missed sleep to catch up on.

So does Martins!

Pleasingly all of the candidates being touted, look to be an improvement on Lage, who let's face it was a disaster waiting to happen. I really liked the way Olympiakos played football against us in the Europa League, so all things considered, my vote is for Pedro Martins. There, end of debate, close thread.

Martins would be a similar appointment to Nuno for me, in that Nuno's pre-Wolves career screamed "competent but unexciting". But at the same time - while Antorim might have that factor of being a young wonderkid linked with a bunch of other big jobs, his CV isn't that dissimilar to Lage's was post-Benfica.

I think the main thing for me is that the last season-and-a-bit have ground down my belief in the possibility of mid-table stasis, let alone improvement, so I'm finding it hard to latch on to any of the apparent front-runners with much excitement.

There is no perfect candidate out there .

On the day that our new Manager is appointed , there will be a welcome thread here with , no doubt , contrasting views on that person's suitability . That is simply the nature of it .

I'm far more inclined towards Emery than others . Other will differ .

All names mentioned do seem on the face of it to be ahead of Lage . There are however no guarantees . Right now , I just want us to stay in the Premier League this season - that's the height of it .

Nobody should complain if it was Emery, Poch, Tuchel or Amorim

The chances of any of them turning up is pretty remote.
Agreed.

I think Emery is the most likely of that quartet though. He's "only" at Villareal and has unfished business  in England.

Overall, I'd be surprised if it isn't Pedro Martins at this point.

It's as if Talksport want people to ring in and tell them they are talking shite...
True, but given the lack of knowledge of anything outside the top 6 by so many "pundits", i think they believe what they are saying.
