There has obviously been something Lage has done or said specifically to Coady.
From Coady's words when he left it would be Lage didn't have the bollocks to tell him the obvious news. He was moving to a back 4 and didn't feel he would be good enough and therefore was now a squad member rather than starter.
The idea is fine and as head coach its his call but its a failure on both good communication and of course respect for the player.
We all know Lage was piss poor on comms, so that is not a huge surprise.

Thankfully the rest of the club, whether they agreed with the call or not, did show Coady respect.

Do you read every scrap of stuff that appears in print on any given day? EVERY BIT?
You couldn't have just missed whatever it was that I read...?
Feel free to point me in the direction of where he said he was training with the kids and I will hold my hands and say you are right

Everything I have read was just the nothing like you appear to have seen.
Lets just take the possibility he was training with the kids....that would mean he was being bombed out, forced to leave and of course unlikely to be in any squads at all involving the 1st team during pre-season or indeed the opening game of the season.

What is it about Amorim that makes us excited about that specific possibility?

Liam is on the Pedro Martins train

If it's a choice between a straightforward, cheap move for a free Martins, or a more complex and expensive Amorim pursuit, which do we reckon our glorious leaders will go for?

He's got a good track record (albeit quite short), reputation for playing attacking football, but most of all he isn't Lage or Dyche.

He said it didn't feel right at training, not quite the same but there was definitely something going on.

I think he just felt that Large didn't want him, which he didn't.

Before we found the cheque book in August I would have gone with option A) Cheap Move but as we found that cheque book, not so sure.

I think we will ask about Amorim and get knocked back though

There is absolutely no way in the world that Coady wasn't training with the first team. Absolute gibberish. I can get behind the possibility that the "you're not first choice anymore" conversation was handled terribly, but he won't have been bomb-squaded ffs

It was a ridiculous post you made.

Although I somewhat agree with your first line in the post above in your original post a simple Google would've told you he's only managed in Portugal and with huge consistent success which is what neither of his predecessors had.

What his age has to do with it I don't know. Pep Guardiola was young when he was in charge with Barça as was Tuchel, Klopp and AVB at the start of their careers.
I'm fully aware that he has only worked in Portugal - that was my point - it wasn't meant to be a question . Instead I was pointing out that , would we not prefer someone with a more wide range of experience in more than one league , such as Emery as one example .
Amorim no doubt is well regarded - but in a league which is below the Premier League level .
I am merely pointing out a concern , which is what this forum is about .
We have a hugely talented squad , who we want to retain in the main......if you had the choice , would you hand it over to Emery ( who is proven I think ) or someone who has less experience .

That's my point - hopefully worded better this time .

I doubt the conversation even happened unless Coad's started it and then he would have been told "lets see, I have many solutions for the defence, including our finest Central Midfielder"

At worst I could see that the squad was split first team/reserves out in Spain/Portugal (we hardly made any subs in any of the games, by friendly standards) and Coady therefore rarely worked with the likes of Neves/Moutinho/Raul etc as he normally does as he wasn't in the line up for the Alaves/Besiktas/Sporting games.

As for taking a manager who's already employed...we haven't done that since 1995 and McGhee. Not to say we won't do it (and if Amorim is our #1 target, it'd be daft to not at least try to do a deal) but it's not our normal MO, under Fosun or anyone else. If they genuinely think Martins is capable of doing a good job then they might get that done quickly instead, because we need points like now. We could be 19th tonight.
