New Manager Search *BACK ON*

What's funny about that. It's literally his job.

My word, have you actually read that?

I'd be utterly embarrassed to quote that given our current standard of play over the last 12 months.

And are you saying this is all Pearson's fault? Do the stats wankers set the tone and style of play for the club. Is it the fucking clowns fault we're playing Nunes out of position? Because I've seen no change in play from Lage. It's still fucking shit.

I'm not sure how Sellars collects data on a white board, but y'know we're ahead of the curve and using this new technology is really helping the players.

One step up from wax tablets I suppose.

And if you're any one of our coaching or stats team you can fuck the fuck off out of our club any time you want. Preferably yesterday.

Sounds very Zenga-esque. What could possibly go wrong?
Vítor Pereira knows a lot about football. Like, really a lot. He's not a great manager of men, so he may clash with players at points, however. He's definitely a few bars above Lage however. For a short term project, I would take him.

There's been rumours for years that AVB success in Porto was due to Vítor Pereira's work and skills. Which is, as said above, ancient history.

I posted the link because you seemed to be struggling with what game analysis and Pearson's job is. Looks like you still are.

If we accept for now that we aren't getting anyone before the Arsenal game, most would say we're going to have 9 or 10 points from 15 games at that point. Even one draw seems fanciful but let's give us that. Brighton haven't won under their new manager yet, let's say 0-0 there.

Whoever comes in is therefore likely to need 25-30 points from the remaining fixtures, even if we have deals set up for new players (stop laughing at the back) then none of them can play against Everton or Man Utd, and I'm fairly sure they won't be able to against Villa either. Let's be kind and give us 2 points there.

12 points from 18 games.

I would be uncomfortable relying on anything below 37 to stay up (forget the stupid 40 points myth, it's so proven historically to be bobbins, you may as well say 50 points).

25 from 20 required. At least. Includes games against Liverpool x 2 and all of the other top teams once.

I want someone better than a bloke who's spent a decade on the C/D list of leagues. It needs to be someone who comes straight in and goes bang bang, 4 wins out of 6 or something.

It's our own fault we're in this position, of course.

I want someone who can come in and get us to champions league in a season and a half. But at one point, we take what we can get. It doesn't seem we can attract the likes of what we want, because management has been a bunch of crap decisions and may not be willing to invest money.

I agree with you, but I'm being realistic here. If it's either continue as we are or having someone good until the end of the season, I wouldn't mind Vítor Pereira.

We never asked him. We looked and decided no.

He didn't turn us down, very much doubt he would have done either.
Fair. Thanks. I've not been following everything in detail lately (work, life in general...) Thought we had gone for him. I really don't understand what's going on

Got me. AT LAST

Of course he wouldn’t. His previous offer was from the mighty Hull. If he was prepared to talk to them he’d have signed on the dotted line here despite all the nonsense going on.

I think I read the club may have been put off by adverse online reaction to him being a contender? (could have made this up though)

Keep up, that was Bruce. Shi doesn’t listen to the fans so I think you’ve dreamt it!
