Middlesbrough (A) 30/3 Build-Up Thread

Our support has been more than acceptable this season - yes there are games that will be more difficult to get to (or awkwardly timed for travel)

We had 3500 at Bristol on New Year's Eve & feck knows how many at Fulham as the neutral end was 90% Wolves

I am not going to be able to do many of the Northern games considering where I live, but there are others who can do those & I (& others down here)will deal with the southern teams

Yes the players (this season) deserve it, but for those of us south of Watford it's a 3 day trip as unless you are prepared for a very long drive then no way of doing it without a stay over (probably for the night before & after)

Which is why i said i understand the reasons for not going when it comes to money or travel etc...which with you the travel is definitely out of the question. My point would be to those fans that can make it and have decided not to. If we were crap i'd understand a bit more but there's definitely fans that can make it and aren't which is disappointing. Maybe it's because a few years ago i couldn't make many games and would have loved to but at the moment i'm in a situation where i can make nearly every one. I don't think the support is shit but i think we definitely could/should have sold our allocation for this game.

Why are you trying to dig at the club anyway? The support has been great this season. Molineux is near enough full every week, and away support has been great - Preston, Fulham, Derby, Man City, Villa, Barnsley, Reading we had huge turnouts

Sheff Wed - massively overpriced tickets, on a Thursday night, close to Christmas and on TV. Leeds - massively overpriced, on a Wednesday night and on TV. Millwall - 1pm kick off on Boxing Day, arranging travel would have been a nightmare.

It's easy to pick out odd games where the away following hasn't been as big as other games, but there are mitigating circumstances around it

Not trying to dig at the club. Just suggesting I think it’s poor.

Yes there are circumstances, not everyone can make it. But these are the reasons we are not extremely well followed. Which is fine, we just have to accept it rather than coming up with excuses. Villa, Leeds and maybe even Sheff Wed would take more in the same situation, and two of those are woeful, and Villa aren’t pissing the league like we are playing champagne football.

There were 275 left a few days ago so not sure where the 900 left has come from either.

That's come from the club tweeting on Monday(2days ago) we had sold 1621 from our 2500 allocation. 879 is pretty close to 900 so unless we have sold 500/600 in the last 2 days which from the tweet i saw from the Boro reporter earlier saying we had sold 1687 we clearly haven't then that's where the 900 came from.

Fair enough. I saw tweets about us having 275 left as that was the same number as we took there under Jackett.

To be honest, it really isn't an important thing for me anyway.

I’d have been there had it not been on tele. 100%. I reckon there’s a good few hundred thinking similar.

I’ll be in Cardiff next week. Sometimes you just have to pick and choose and ‘Boro away is clearly an ‘easy’ one to miss if it’s on the box. Not a particularly nice place for a drink, bank holiday travel etc etc.

I'm making the extremely long journey there and looking forward to not just being one of only 250 people!

It's quite a stretch to call you northerners people but I s'pose we'll let you off as you are are going to a game where pensioners in Dorset can't be arsed #pisspoorsupport

That's a bit harsh - anyway we are not allowed further north Than the Midlands unless we get lost & can't find our way back :eek:ldboy:

Wolves have never in their history done the double over Boro, good day to finally do it.

" @Boro (a) on Friday, 30th March (5.30pm): 1,708 the final pre-sales figure. Wolves fans will be able to purchase from the Visitors Collection Office at the Riverside Stadium from 3.30pm tomorrow. Sales will be cash only. "

I would love to beat Boro, 25 minutes away and we never win there! It's like a curse on me that we can never beat our local team!

Looking forward to this game, feels like the first time in century's since we've played at Boro and it's not been midweek!

The Boro fans I've spoken to up here seem a bit nervous, they'd take a point. Equally I think I'd settle for a point given our (totally irrelevant) history at Aryesome Park/The Riverside!

Plus, we never win on TV....

I'm not in the slightest bit worried about the Boro 'hoodoo' however I am a bit concerned about our defending against set pieces at times..Pulis will surely look to exploit this, hopefully Nuno and the boys will have learned something and been working on it this week.......I'm strangely confident

Any suggestions for pubs before the game, as I'm arriving on the train between the station and the ground would be good!

What time do you get into Boro NE?

Isaac Newton is a good one. It does take some finding though.

Again, for those who can access ESPN 3 we are live for this afternoons game :)
