Middlesbrough (A) 30/3 Build-Up Thread

Excellent. Boro have shown us their tactics then. Kick the shit in to us for 90 minutes.

The Shotton challenge was just weird, the sort of thing you do to harmlessly bring someone down when you're beaten but Douglas was letting it run out of play. Didn't think there was a lot in the Bamford one though, easy for Douglas to make it look bad after the other two set the tone though.

Nice effort from Neves just.

Bamford doing well up against Coady there. He's exactly the type of centre forward that Coady has trouble against.

Ruddy with a few flaps, need to settle down.

The fuck is Ruddy doing here

The fuck was that Ruddy?! Either try and catch it or let it sail out for a goal kick, don't just pat it down to the floor like a moron.

He's done that with increasing frequency since Christmas, lucky that one has never dropped to anyone's feet for a tap in.

We've not got into this game at all yet.

A Pulis team will do what you expect - try to get in our faces & ruffle us plus long throws & crosses

We should have have been practising dealing with those

Get the ball down & play round them

It’s very niggly and scrappy which will suit Boro better.

Traore is causing us a fair few problems.

Tbf neither have they

They’re having much more possession round our box and at least are looking dangerous with it. They’re much more in it than we are at the moment.

Ruddy is going to have to start coming to claim some of these balls into the box. This is poor for a keeper of his experience. Even just coming to claim a couple takes so much pressure of the defence

Traore is causing us a fair few problems.

He’s got Boly and Douglas on toast so far. First real test Boly has had directly up against a pace merchant and he’s struggling.
